This quest is available to players who have purchased the legendary edition of the Riders of Rohan expansion. You play as a level 75 War-steed which has special skills. You are ported to The Wold, at a wide field. [42.4S, 52.9W] Ahead are Gandalf and Shadowfax, approach them and listen to Gandalf, then talk to Shadowfax. This completes this session and you are ported back to Hengstacer Farm.

Quest Text

Bestowal dialogue The horse appears to be staring off into the distance, as if he now knows where he needs to go. Background For centuries the Mearas have freely roamed the plains of Rohan, only bowing before the kings and princes of the Rohirrim. Objective 1 Approach and listen to Shadowfax and his companion Shadowfax is waiting for you here in the fields of Rohan. Shadowfax has led his companion here to wait for you, though the companion is not yet aware of why he came to this place. Gandalf the White says, "Something approaches..." Gandalf the White says, "There is something of the Mearas in this stallion." Gandalf the White says, "Did you summon this one here, Shadowfax?" Gandalf the White says, "He is not a full-blooded Mearh, nor does he seem to have a rider." Gandalf the White says, "He appears to have a few of your herd's traits, Shadowfax." Gandalf the White says, "Is he meant to be among your herd?" Objective 2 Approach and listen to Shadowfax and his companion Shadowfax awaits you on the border of the eastern fields of Rohan. Shadowfax: 'Welcome back, my brother. He who rides me, Gandalf, is right to say that you are a descendant of the Maeras. I summoned you here to remind you of your true home.' 'A darkness spreads over the lands. Soon, a time shall come when the herd will need to ride again. Return to us, when you are ready.' Session complete.
