Queen Luzími was a Shâra of Hamât during the early Third Age, remembered chiefly for her role in the civil war known as the Madâr or Realm-cleaving. She reigned during the end of the Years of Joy and sought to preserve the unity of the Shârate, but was opposed by rebels in the east who were supported by Khand. Her cause endured through loyalty in the Ikorbân Valley and Ambarûl, and she became a central figure in the struggle that marked the beginning of Hamât’s decline.

Luzími’s accession is little recorded, but she inherited a Shârate that had prospered for generations since the reign of Aragín the Queller. The prosperity of the valley, the restored Road of Riches, and renewed trade with dwarves and elves endured into her time, but rival factions began to grow in power east of the valley.

The Madâr was the great division of Hamât, remembered as a century of conflict between the queen and the rebel lords of the east. Luzími retained the loyalty of the Ambarûli and much of the Ikorbân Valley, while her rivals gained strength from alliances with the Khandari.

The strife became a struggle of foreign powers as well. Gondor, fearing the influence of Khand, gave open support to Luzími and her heirs. This support prolonged the war but also prevented a swift victory for the rebels. The civil war devastated the prosperity of the Shârate, and though Luzími held firm, her reign marked the beginning of Hamât’s long decline.

Peace was eventually imposed by the merchants of Jaghâna, who divided the land between Hamât and Erêsh, with Ambarûl independetly placed under the rule of an Ibili council. Though Luzími herself did not live to see this settlement, her defense of the valley preserved the line of Hamâti rulers for another generation.

Luzími is remembered among the Ikorbâni as a queen of steadfastness who defended her people against both rebellion and foreign encroachment. In some traditions she is regarded as the last sovereign to embody the strength and prosperity of the old Shârate before its slow fall to the Empire of Ordâkh and the Church of the All-seeing.
