Out-of-Character

Stonekin is a Rune-keeper created as a challenge character. He never finished the tutorial, which means he cannot use steeds, fast-travel, or legendary items (which I later learned is particularly bad for an RK since there are no normal high-level stones). Additionally, he cannot join fellowships, raids, or kinships. Nevertheless, he has managed to attain level 100.

In-Character Bio

I am Awesomeness Incarnate. I don't need nobody. I'm six different kinds of Awesome, and with that much Awesomeness, there ain't no more room in a Fellowship, so I walk alone.

Sure, I could ride a steed, but I'm a Dwarf. We like the feel of the earth beneath our feet. And anyways, I don't need nobody, not even a steed.

There was some hubbub in Moria, so I went down there to kick some stones and set things right. But when I got there, the other Dwarves refused to let me in, claiming I needed a "legendary weapon." What do they know? My fists are legendary weapons! But they were just too jealous of my Awesome power and refused to let me in. Stupid, uncaring Dwarves. So, I walked around Moria.

And walked.

And walked.

And walked some more.

I walked to Rohan where I finally collapsed, exhausted. During the trek had been attacked by brigands, wolves, and things of the night of which I dare not speak. The few people I spoke with just wanted to use me to solve their problems, with nary a kind word.

I sat by the side of the road crying. Life on the road had become too hard. And no one cared. There was nothing left to do but write my Farewell World letter. Perhaps the next world would recognize my sheer Awesomeness. There was nothing here worth living for.

As I approached the postman with my letter, he handed me a ginormous package. "Wait, what? Practically no one even knows I exist. Who is this from?" I read the letter:

Hello, Stonekin.

I was riding by and saw you sitting on the side of the road with no legendary items. I was so impressed by your dedication that I immediately asked my kin if anyone had a better weapon for you. They were all impressed. We have worked together and crafted you a complete set of new armour.

Best wishes

Inside the package was an upgraded rune-stone, full set of armour, and full set of (Might) jewelry.

I laughed until I cried.

People cared.

Sure, the jewelry was kind of odd, but it showed just how kind people are, caring for strangers they have never met or even spoken with.

I put on that armour right then and there, despite the shouting of the postman that I cannot undress in public. I didn't care. I am Stonekin, Pure Awesomeness. So Awesome that people I have never met give me stuff for free. I strutted into Dol Amroth.

It was there that I met my destiny. A grave threat assaulted the city: Kinship Spammers.

"jOin my kin and get free cookies!"

"New kin! Join now and become an Officer!"

"Best kinship on the server! Almost Rank 3! PST for more info!!!!"

Their shrill voices filled the air, suffocating rational thought and driving men, dwarves, hobbits, and elves to the point of madness.

It was a threat I was uniquely positioned to stand against.

"Level 100 Rune-keeper. Please invite me to your kin."

And with those simple words, the Kinship Spam stopped. They tried to invite me, but failed miserably. Instead of filling the air with their odious spam, they sent invite after invite and message after message. Confounded, they inspected me and asked other officers to try to invite me. They asked me to re-log, check the Enable kinship requests checkbox, and send in tickets (I even pretended to have conversations with GM's about the problem, wasting so much of the spammer's time). One kinship spammer even created a whole new kinship just to see if it was a problem with that particular kin! World Chat received a much-needed respite.

I am Stonekin, Awesome Vanquisher of Kinship Spam. Fear me, Evil Kinship Spammers.
