Description
Valardis was Isildur's queen, the lady of Minas Ithil before it was captured by the forces of Sauron in 3429 of the Second Age.
After the Downfall of Númenor and the foundation of Gondor and Arnor, Valardis established a library in Minas Ithil with the surviving lore of Númenor. The library serves a different purpose now, since the city's second fall to the Nazgûl, but the halls remain.
Valardis remained in Rivendell with Valandil, her youngest son, while Isildur and their elder sons fought in the War of the Last Alliance. Lady Galadriel of Lothlórien sent a message to Valardis when the Galadhrim retook Minas Ithil, but when Valardis learned of her family's deaths in the Disaster of the Gladden Fields, she never returned to the south.
Valardis's relationship with Tárandil, who Isildur agreed to foster in the escape from Númenor, is never mentioned on way or another.
Note: Valardis only exists in Lotro. Isildur's wife isn't named in Tolkien's works.
