Background

For many ages there has dwelt in Middle-earth a little known group of Men. No, they are not the Dúnedain of the North. Spartans they were named, and they inhabited the remote and unmapped island of Sparta. They were great warriors, masters of the spear and sword. Some say they are a cross between Man and Dwarf, but with the positive attributes of both, for they are as sturdily built as the dwarves. Their customs differed from most of Middle-Earth, for within Sparta lies the most cruel but best punishment system of all men. But this system has made Spartans far more honourable and loyal than other inhabitants of Middle-Earth, perhaps even the nicest of Elves. So great were the Spartans that those who discovered them thought they were a utopian dream of themselves. But now the days are dark, and much use are there for great warriors. As the Enemy rises once more, an army of Spartans sail away from their home island onto the mainland of Middle-Earth, acting as an elite force of the Free Peoples. The Grand General of the army, the great Adam Kane, more commonly known as "Spartanoob", leaves the army to his second-in-command, Renilond, the Warden of Sparta, as he sets out to put an end to the terror of Angmar at Gandalf and Strider's request. Aided by a new found friend, Shalimir, the Martial Warrior, they set out on a perlious journey to stop the Witch-king of Angmar.

Spartanoob (Adam Kane)

An honourable and powerful figure, Spartanoob is the ultimate representitive of Sparta. His stature is almost perfect, like few non-Spartans. He is a great Captain, a skilled diplomat, a trained bard, an experienced teacher, and a devastating fighter, all that one can wish for. He is also quite skilled at stealth, as he spent his teens as a scout. Spartanoob can easily be mistaken as a man from Gondor, and that is his disguise. He is the leader of the Spartan Army (Kinship). Spartanoob is almost always followed by his loyal herald and childhood friend, Harid (known to outsiders of the Army simply as Spartan or by another name when in disguise).

Shalimir, The Martial Warrior (Known as Martialwarrior in game)

Most, if not all, residents of Middle-Earth use weaponry. The increasing popularity of it is making more and more people lose the ability to fight without weapons. Shalimir, a nomadic teacher and adventurer, focuses on educating others in the art of unarmed combat, which he is a master of. Little is known about the origins of the Martial Warrior, except that his father was at least part Gondorian and that he was part Dúnedain. Shalimir first encountered Spartanoob within the Chetwood. Spartanoob, searching for Amdir, attacked Shalimir, thinking that he was a Blackwold. He fought with honour, which meant he fought the Martial Warrior unarmed, and was at a great disadvantage. After being defeated by Shalimir, Spartanoob was not killed or captured, and he realised that his opponent was not a brigand. The Martial Warrior asked Spartanoob of his business in the Chetwood. Spartanoob claimed to be a trader from Gondor, who was mugged by brigands and forced to travel through the Chetwood. He said that when he saw Shalimir, he mistook him for a lone, unarmed brigand and attacked him for revenge. Just then, they were ambushed by a mob of Blackwolds, whom they defeated. There, dangously close to the Blackwold Headquarters, they decided to set camp, for it was late night. There, Spartanoob introduced himself to Shalimir, who revealed that he was travelling to Combe then to Bree to teach others on the art of unarmed combat. And there, the Martial Warrior decided to join the Grand General of the Spartan Army on his quest. Spartanoob took Shalimir to Strider, who, to his surprise, knew Shalimir. He said that they had met in Rivendell, and were taught unarmed combat by the same Master, only that Shalimir moved on to become the Master's apprentice and later heir. He also mentioned that Shalimir was part Dúnedain.
