Walkthrough & Notes

You only need to complete four of the five listed Skirmishes to advance this quest. You must defeat the Harbinger of the Dead on level, up to 5 above (too much deflect at 8 above) or 8 below to count towards the quest, as long as the quest is marked as green. Retreating while engaged with the Harbinger of the Dead may result in it not counting towards the quest. Kiting the Harbinger of the Dead too far away from its spawn location may not progress the quest or deed. Each Skirmish can be started at any size (even solo). Completing the Tier 3 quest, will also advance the deed Skirmish Assault: Ill Omens (Tier 3).

Bestowal dialogue '<<name>! 'I've heard tell that the Harbingers of the Dead have been spotted among the wilder lands of Middle-earth. 'Do what you can, and I'll handle the rest!' Background Harbingers of the Dead are assaulting those who dwell in the treacherous wilds of Middle-earth. NOTE: This quest will be removed from your quest log when the event it is associated with ends. Objective 1 Complete 'Ill Omens: Storm on Methedras' Complete 'Ill Omens: Ford of Bruinen' Complete 'Ill Omens: The Icy Crevasse' Complete 'Ill Omens: Attack At Dawn' Complete 'Ill Omens: Barrow-downs' Nedda Pinleaf has asked you to seek out Harbingers of the Dead among the more treacherous wilds of Middle-earth. NOTE: Harbingers of the Dead can be found in the following skirmishes: Storm on Methedras, Ford of Bruinen, The Icy Crevasse, Attack At Dawn, and Barrow-downs. You only need to complete four of the five listed quests today to advance this quest. Objective 2 Talk to Nedda Pinleaf Nedda Pinleaf can be found at the skirmish camps of Bree, Ost Galadh, and the Twenty-first Hall. You should talk to Nedda Pinleaf. Nedda Pinleaf: 'Very good, <name>! That ought to keep them away from those folk for a bit!'
