Walkthrough & Notes

Both fierce cold-whelplings (little) and fierce cold-drakes (big) count towards the quest objective, but only the larger drakes seem to have the  Twist: Persistent Cold debuffing ability. The persistent debuff, which reduces frost resistance, can be removed by moving into active campfires, located through the instance, to get the Soothing Warmth buff. It takes a few seconds of that buff to remove the debuff. Also, the campfires seem to extinguish and re-ignite somewhat randomly, so it may take some time to find one that is usable. Alternatively, use a crafted Camp-fire (made by Cooks), or stand next to one of the braziers in Hall of Vérnozal, near the zone-in point. Hunters of sufficient level can use Bright Camp-fire. The barricades not only block access, but they are also aggro barriers. So this can be used to control the flow of battle, recover between fights, etc. Hártung spawns on the bridge/catwalk, summons 2 whelplings, and, although this is not listed as a Twist for the mission, appears to have the  Twist: Hrímil's Chosen ability. Note that the mission completes when Hártung is defeated, regardless of whether the whelplings are still present, and if present, and keeping the player in combat, this will inhibit the opening of the chest, which is on a timer. An impassable pile of ice blocks the west end of the hallway, when Hártung spawns. If the player is defeated, it will be necessary to reset the instance. After completing your objectives, there is a limited time (2 minutes) before you will be automatically ejected from the instance. You need to find and open the "Mission Reward" chest before this happens. Defeating more enemies does not reset the timer!

Your mission is to defeat the cold-drake blockade in Gundabad.  Twist: Persistent Cold Background You have been tasked with defeating the cold-drake blockade in Gundabad. Objective 1 Destroy ice blockades (0/10) Defeat drakes (0/10) You should defeating the cold-drakes and their blockade. 'Something watches you from atop the bridge.' Objective 2 Defeat Hártung You should defeat Hártung. (when approaching bridge) 'Something watches you from atop the bridge.' Defeated Hártung. Objective 2 Talk to Ausma MISSION COMPLETE! A dwarf scout has arrived to escort you back to the halls of Máttugard. Dwarf Scout: Well done, <name>! With the vile Hártung defeated, we should return to Scout-master Ausma and report our success!'
