Quest Text

Bestowal dialogue 'We must track the Wood-trolls to their lair, <name>, if we are to cleanse the corruption that scars the Trollshaws. 'I can take you to them. Their tracks are easily distinguishable in the muddy earth, and Wood-trolls are not known for their subtlety or intelligence. But ask me not in haste! I know of the Nazgûl that Master Elrond has lost, and I fear that it may have lent some of its strength and power to these creatures for them to be so bold. We must be watchful. 'Speak with me when you have gathered such friends as you can trust and are ready to be led into the wild in search of the Wood-trolls, and the evil power I fear may be their ally.' NOTE: This quest is meant for a fellowship. If you choose to undertake this quest solo you will receive an inspiration bonus, but the challenge will be great. Background Legolas recognized the creature you described as one of Wood-trolls and has agreed to help you track the rest down. Objective 1 Talk to Legolas in Rivendell and track down the Wood-trolls Legolas is in Rivendell, in one of the guest rooms along the road that winds up the southern slope of the Vale of Imladris. The Elf-prince from Mirkwood, Legolas, is waiting to help you track down the Wood-trolls in the Trollshaws and defeat them. Legolas: 'Are you ready? I can follow the tracks of the Wood-trolls and can lead you to their lair. Bring what friends you can trust, for Wood-trolls are dangerous creatures, and we may find more than one or two.' Objective 2 Talk to Legolas in Rivendell Legolas is in Rivendell, in one of the guest rooms along the road that winds up the southern slope of the Vale of Imladris. The Elf-prince from Mirkwood, Legolas, is waiting to speak with you about what the two of you saw in the lair of the Wood-trolls. Legolas: 'We have ended the Nazgûl's designs by slaying the Wood-troll Taushakh, but the escape of so great a servant of the Enemy casts a shadow upon my heart.'
