Walkthrough & Notes

This quest can appear during the defense of the central gate-wall (Stage III) of the Epic Battle: Hammer of the Underworld. Its alternative is On Black Wings. Five Terrified Soldiers will spawn in the courtyard [59.4N, 16.8W], and will be attacked by waves of Mordor Cullers. The soldiers do not fight back and cannot be healed; however, the Orcs can be easily aggroed off of the soldiers. Defeating all the waves will automatically count up the surviving soldiers and complete the "Terrified soldiers rescued" objective. At the same time, Subjugated Soldiers will spawn one-by-one (or two-by-two in the fellowship version) at various places in the courtyard and walk slowly towards the Great Gate. They must be damaged until low morale (~20%), at which point they will "wake up" and run off.
