Info: 7th Chieftain of the Ai-thúda

Gisilhári was the 7th Chieftain of the Ai-thúda. He was son of the legendary Fram, and was a Northman of the Ai-thúda tribe. Gisilhári's brother Gífica was only ten years old when he succeeded their father, while Gisilhári himself was only five. Fram's death brought new troubles for the Ai-thúda. It stirred the Orcs of the North, who had feared him, and though he left three sons, none were yet of age. The hordes of Gundabad seized upon the Ai'thuda's lack of an adult lord and caused much strife in the Wells for many years, leading to the death of both of Gisilhári's elder brothers.

Gífica died in an Orc ambush when he was only 25 years old, then Gundamári was killed by Orcs just a year later, on a reckless quest to avenge him, leaving the youngest brother Gisilhári, now 21 years old, to inherit the Chieftaincy. Gisilhári, who had always seemed less hot-blooded than his brothers, proved to be the most fortunate of the siblings. Under his careful command, the Ai-thúda pushed back against the Orcs, winning several decisive battles before finally breaking them and slaying their chief in a great battle by the Dvergvát.

Sadly Gisilhári met with tragedy himself soon after feasting his victory. Flush with pride, and plenty of ale, he declared his intent to name himself King of the Thíuda, despite his ancestor Marhwini's oath. He sought out the mearas, announcing his intent to tame and ride one. The attempt ended in failure, and not for the last time among the masters of the Ai-thúda. The mearh he chose threw him, and in the fall he broke his back. He was unable to walk afterward, and died at the age of 42, older than any lord of his people since Frumgar, but still far too young. Death and maiming from attempted mearas taming would happen three more times in Gisilhári bloodline, until his descendant Eorl finally achieved the feat.
