Farin (Northern for Traveler), son of Borin, was the father of Fundin and Gróin and the grandfather of Balin, Dwalin, Óin and Glóin of Thorin's Company. Farin saw the Longbeards' flights from both the Grey Mountains and Erebor at the claws of dragons and their kin, and joined the Haban'akkâ of Thráin in their hunt for Azog.
