Crown of Gondor
The Crown of Gondor was the ceremonial headwear of the Kings of Gondor, and served as a symbol of their Kingship.
The original Crown of Gondor was in actuality the unadorned Númenórean War-helm of Isildur, as Anárion's helm was crushed when the latter met his demise. This helm was used to crown the Kings of Gondor until the reign of Atanatar II, who replaced it with a jewelled helm that was worn by subsequent monarchs. When Eärnur vanished on his ill-fated ride to Minas Morgul in T.A. 2050, the crown was laid to rest in the lap of his father Eärnil II within Rath Dínen, until the King should return...
At long last, on May 1st, T.A. 3019, Aragorn, son of Arathorn and rightful heir of Isildur, came unto his own before the Gates of Minas Tirith, and was proclaimed King Elessar Telcontar, and was coronated with the jewelled crown. Frodo Baggins would carry the crown to Mithrandir, who would place it on the head of the new king. The crown, along with the Sceptre of Annúminas, would remain the symbol of the Reunited Kingdom's royalty, even upon the ascension of Elessar's son Eldarion to the throne in F.A. 120.
It was said that the tall and winged crown was wrought of silver, pearl and jewels, while seven glimmering gems of adamant were set into the circlet of the crown. A brilliant jewel rested upon it's summit as well, shimmering like a flame.
