Effects

The tooltip of this skill is confusing. This skill deals AoE damage and applies the following effects on all nearby enemies:

•  Litany of Defiance
•  Staggered (Target Run Speed Only)
•  War-chant
•  Take to Heart
•  Deep Wound
•  Terrible Wound
•  Disorientation (requires trait  Disorientation)

If any of these effects are already applied on enemies, the duration will be refreshed.

Skill Interactions

The Minstrel skill  Call to Greatness resets the active cooldown of this skill.

Trait Interactions

• The trait  Disabling Strikes in the Fighter of Shadow trait tree increases the potency of all inflicted debuffs (except bleeds) by variable amounts.
  
• The trait  Insult to Injury in the Fighter of Shadow trait tree makes your damaging skills have up to a 20% chance to refresh most of the inflicted effects, besides the bleeds and Take to Heart.
  
• The trait  Radiate in the Fighter of Shadow trait tree increases the proc chance for  Bastion of Light to spread the inflicted effects by up to 30%.
  
• The trait  Thrill of Battle in the Keen Blade trait tree makes this skill apply Thrill of Battle to the Guardian, up to 5 times. If this skill lands as a critical hit, all stacks are removed.
  

Armour Set Interactions

Equipping 2 pieces of the Umbari Armour of the Crocodile armour set acquired from the Depths of Mâkhda Khorbo Raid increases the Bleed damage of this skill by 5%.
Equipping 6 pieces of the Umbari Armour of the Desert Sun armour set makes  Sweeping Cut reduce the active cooldown of this skill by 2 seconds.

Tactical Information

Cataclysmic Shout is most commonly used by Red-line Guardians to quickly apply Deep Wound and Terrible Wound to enemy targets. This skill should be used at the beginning of long battles, and used at select moments where great damage is required.
