Description

Calatirion, the Beacon-tower of Elendil, can be found in Bej Mâgha in of the Cape of Umbar. ^{[19.9S, 103.7W]}

The great lighthouse of Calatirion was raised by Elendil of Númenor, and in it Anárion set the Airessar, one of the seven Vandassari. The stone was used to compel the service of the Haradrim by Sauron during the War of the Last Alliance until it was shattered by Lendelen of the Bright Company. The lighthouse itself remained for nearly three thousand years after, until it was cast down at the command of the Forsaken Reaver. The oldest people of Umbar Baharbêl still recall that day- the 'Death of Light'.

The ruins around the base of Calatirion are haunted by the Dead now, raised by the lingering power of Sauron.
