Belfalas Heraldry

The fief of Belfalas lies along the southern coast of Gondor, between the mouths of the rivers Ringló and Gilrain. To the west, beyond the Ringló, stretches Anfalas, while to the east of the Gilrain lies Lebennin. Its southern boundary is formed by the Bay of Belfalas, whose waters shaped much of the region's character and strength.

North of Belfalas rise the foothills of the White Mountains, where lie the fiefs of Blackroot Vale, Lamedon, and Ringló Vale. The land itself is defined by a mixture of coastal plains and rugged uplands. The largely uninhabited Emyn Falas marks its central reaches, a line of rough hills broken by scattered valleys. The eastern part of Belfalas is named Dor-en-Ernil, the land of the Prince, and it borders Lebennin in the east and Ringló Vale in the north.

In the western part of the fief stands the castle of Dol Amroth, ruled by a lince of princes and set upon a high promontory at the southern edge of Cobas Haven, the small bay into which both the Ringló and Morthond flow. Further inland, some fifty miles north of Dol Amroth, is the ancient Elven haven of Edhellond, near the meeting of the two rivers. At its southern extremity, the land of Belfalas narrows into the Cape of Belfalas, the furthest point of the fief thrusting into the sea.
