"In a desperate bid to rid the Wastes of two terrible foes, Faramir, son of Ondoher, has devised a ruse to set the Wainriders of old against the merciless Black Númenórean, Burudagath the Bloodletter."

Background

In a desperate bid to free the Wastes of two threats to the Host of the West, Faramir, son of Ondoher has set a plan in motion to stop Burudagath the Bloodletter by setting the Wainriders against him.

Objective 1

Faramir is just outside Ondoher's Folly in Dagorlad.

You should speak to Faramir when you are ready to assault Ondoher's Folly and confront the Bloodletter.

Faramir, son of Ondoher: 'Although I spent many years upon the hill, never once have I raised a weapon against the Orcs. They came to regard me as nothing more than some sort of twisted amusement for their Master, and in time, I began to believe it myself.
'You have freed me from such delusions, my friend. It may have been folly for me to join the battle long ago, but to flee this fight could bring ruin to Gondor -- to my people!
'<name>, we must rid the hill of Orcs and leave none but the Bloodletter to the Wainriders. If they encounter even one Orc that is loyal to him, it may reveal our deception... and that is a chance we can ill-afford to take.
'We must move now! I shall do what I can to aid you!'

Objective 2

  • Defeat every Orc at Ondoher's Folly

Orcs can be found throughout Ondoher's Folly.

Faramir has asked you to aid him in defeating the Orcs of Ondohoher's Folly so the Wainriders remain deceived upon their arrival.

Faramir, son of Ondoher says, "If we are to prevail, we must clear the hill of Orcs at once!"
Mordor Sentry says, "That <race> and the spirit are back! Go tell the Bloodletter!"
Mordor Torturer says, "How can I fight a spirit?"
Mordor Lashlayer says, "Wake up, maggots!"
Mordor Lashlayer says, "You never... scared us before..."
Mordor Sentry says, "On your feet!"
Mordor Defiler says, "The Bloodletter wants the <race> alive!"
Mordor Sentry says, "Pay attention, you idiots! They're here!"
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "Ah, dear Faramir, have you come to watch more die by my hand?"
Faramir, son of Ondoher says, "No, I come to challenge you and all of your Orcs!"
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "After all this time, you still think yourself a warrior?"
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "So be it... you are fated to fail, Faramir!"
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "Come, my servants!"
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "When I took Ondoher's banner, I meant to scorn him in death."
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "How fortunate I was that his fool of a son was cursed to witness it all!"
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "How many horrors has your folly visited upon the kingdoms of Men, Faramir?"
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "How many have fallen because of your selfish desire to prove yourself?"
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "It is no matter now."
Mordor Torturer says, "Master, help us!"
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "Worthless... all of you..."
Slain by their own master, the last Orcs fall...

Objective 3

Burudagath the Bloodletter is outside the Fane of Screaming at Ondoher's Folly.

You have defeated every Orc in Ondoher's Folly and should now confront Burudagath.

Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "Enough of this..."
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "Begone, son of Ondoher!"
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "<class>, you shall regret returning to this place."
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "You have defied my Master again and again, but now..."
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "I shall earn His favour and succeed where so many have failed!"
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "Submit!"
Darkness creeps into your vision and you fall to the ground...

Objective 4

  • Attempt to free yourself from Burudagath the Bloodletter

You are trapped in the Fane of Screaming at Ondoher's Folly.

Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "Do not struggle, <name>. It shall not avail you."
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "I know much of you, <class>, as I did long before you set foot in this land."
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "The Dark Lord has plans for your pathetic host and this upstart King."
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "I was commanded to let them pass unmolested, and so I did."
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "But when they lie beaten and broken before the Black Gate..."
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "My work shall begin anew, and I shall end them here one by one."
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "As for you..."
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "Die now, and consider this my truest mercy!"
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "What is this?"
At the last moment, a familiar chill rushes into the fane as the Wainriders appear!

Objective 5

  • Observe the confrontation between Zhan Ashû and Burudagath

The Wainriders have come to Ondoher's Folly and are now confronting Burudagath the Bloodletter.

Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "What trickery have you wrought?"
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "Answer me, spirit!"
Zhan Ashû says, "You cannot conceal your true ancestry beneath dark armour or pallid flesh!"
Zhan Ashû says, "Look, coward! You stand beneath the hated banner of Gondor!"
Zhan Ashû says, "You and all your peoples are foes of the Wainriders!"
Zhan Ashû says, "We have waited many long years for our vengeance!"
Zhan Ashû says, "Now, we shall have it!"
Zhan Ashû says, "Die in shame, dog of Númenor!"
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "Why... why have the Dark Lord's spirits come for me?"
Speared by Zhan Ashû, Burudagath falls to the ground defeated!

Objective 6

  • Remain on guard as Zhan Ashû speaks

Zhan Ashû is addressing you before the Wainriders return to Dol Acharn.

Zhan Ashû says, "You have done my people a great favour, <race>, and so I shall leave you in peace."
Zhan Ashû says, "Heed this kindness, and trouble us no more -- else our peace shall be ended."
Zhan Ashû says, "Come, men. We ride to Dol Acharn... and to celebration!"
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "How have I failed Him?"
Burudagath rises from the ground!

Objective 7

  • Listen to Burudagath

Burudagath has survived his encounter with the Wainriders, but appears to be severely wounded.

Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "How..."
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "No...not more of them!"
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "So many...so many dead!"
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "Can you not see them, <name>?"
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "I...I killed you all!"
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "Stay away from me! All of you, stay away!"
Burudagath the Bloodletter says, "No!"
As Burudagath succumbs to his visions of the dead, you are able to break free!

Objective 8

  • Talk to Faramir inside the Fane of Screaming at Ondoher's Folly

Faramir can be found at Ondoher's Folly.

Burudagath has been defeated and Faramir has reappeared within the Fane of Screaming at Ondoher's Folly.

Faramir, son of Ondoher says, "What has happened, <name>?"
Faramir, son of Ondoher: 'I am filled with sorrow that I could not aid you further before the battle's end, <name>, but I am glad the Wainriders arrived in time to draw attention from you. It seems the folly of my past has been answered this day -- perhaps it was once true that my allies were fated to a greater end without my hand in battle, but no more!
'As I look at my father's banner now, I see the might of a Gondor that was... and may be again. For all the defilement Burudagath brought upon it, it resisted any final destruction. Gondor itself must now press onward through the darkness in much the same way, it seems.
'We have won a great victory this day... but I believe it time I leave this place and its painful memories behind.
'Go, return to your friends in the ruins and tell them of our victory. I shall see you again soon enough, <name>...'
Faramir, son of Ondoher: 'It is done, <name>. My father's memory is no longer defiled and the Bloodletter's grip on the Wastes is broken...'
