The Voice of the Dragon
"All of you know why we are here. This is a sacred place, a dwarf place. This is Gundabad!"

Background

Durin has called for Dwarrowmoot, a gathering of the dwarves that will decide what can be done to wrest Gundabad from the claws of Hrímil Frost-heart.

Objective 1

Prince Durin stands at the Thing-fold to begin the Dwarrowmoot for which he has called.

Durin: 'Wish me good fortune in this, <name>.'

Objective 2

  • Observe the Dwarrowmoot

The Dwarrowmoot has begun.

A murmur of discontent ripples through the crowd of dwarves, and Durin falls silent
Glóin says, "We should hear what he has to say."
Prince Ingór says, "That depends on what it might be!"
Zhélruka says, "Aye, so it does!"
Glóin says, "You will honour the prince!"
Zhélruka says, "He is no prince of mine!"
Bori says, "Are we not dwarves?"
Prince Durin says, "Most of us have known only stories of the Mountain-home."
Prince Durin says, "But those tales are as well-known to us as the names of our near kin."
Prince Durin says, "I called for dwarves to take back Gundabad, not just Longbeards, but dwarves."
Prince Durin says, "And this be the response: dwarves of every clan, from the far reaches of Middle-earth!"
Prince Durin says, "Can anything be more clear than this?"
Prince Durin says, "Hear me now: Gundabad belongs not only to the Longbeards, but to all dwarves."
Prince Durin says, "Is this not so, Ingór?"
Prince Ingór says, "Aye, Durin. This is wisdom indeed!"
Prince Ingór says, "Some among my people doubted you would see it. Not I, of course."
Their laughter is disturbed by the sound of a rushing wind!
Glóin says, "What is that?"
Prince Ingór says, "The dragon!"

Objective 3

  • Remain on your guard!

The Dwarrowmoot has been interrupted by the dragon!

Hrímil Frost-heart says, "Foolish insects!"
Hrímil Frost-heart says, "Everything you have done has been to my design!"
Glóin says, "Lies!"
Hrímil Frost-heart says, "It was I who whispered poison into the ears of your prince beside the Anvil of Winterstith!"
Hrímil Frost-heart says, "It was I who urged him to march on Gundabad too soon, without time enough to ready his forces!"
Hrímil Frost-heart says, "Now it will be the death of his people!"
Prince Durin says, "Heed not the voice of the dragon!"
Prince Durin says, "These falsehoods have no power over me, Worm!"
Prince Durin says, "And neither do you."
Prince Durin says, "For I am Durin the Seventh, the Durin of old reborn anew!"
Hrímil Frost-heart says, "It matters not."
Hrímil Frost-heart says, "The armies I command do not have the will to resist my voice."
The sound of thousands of approaching Orcs reverberates among the mountains!
Glóin says, "Do you hear that? We will be surrounded!"
Newcomer says, "Hrímil Frost-heart!"
Hrímil Frost-heart says, "No... how is this possible...?"
Hrímil flees to the highest peak above Gundabad

Objective 4

  • Stand with the dwarves

Hrímil has escaped on powerful wings, making for the high peak, but her terror is plain to see.

Glóin says, "What just happened?"
Glóin says, "How is it you wield that hammer?"
Glóin says, "What is your name, stranger?"
Prince Durin says, "He is a dwarf, and he fights for Gundabad."
Prince Durin says, "That is enough."

Objective 5

  • Talk to Durin

The Dwarrowmoot came to a sudden end, but Durin has made a decision: it is time to face the dragon and reclaim the Mountain-home.

Prince Durin: 'The Dwarrowmoot is over, <name>. Now we have no choice.
'All will be decided in the moments to come!'
