Description
- Vethúg Wintermind is a great cold-drake, the son of Hrímil Frost-heart and brother to the lesser cold-drakes Fólnith the Pale and Grimdóth the Bitter. Centuries ago Vethúg killed King Dáin I and his son Frór and drove the dwarves out of their kingdom in the Grey Mountains.
- Lured by Karazgar, the Weeping Warrior, he comes to Erebor, in Eryn Lasgalen and the Dale-lands, to bring ruin to Durin's Folk once again.
- Wounded at Erebor, but not killed, Vethúg Wintermind escaped back to Thikil-gundu in Ered Mithrin and Withered Heath. Athramóth, his mate, lairs in the old throne room there.
