Hi Hiyacinth or something :-)
The Dead Marshes
Hi Hyacinth. I think I made a mistake before with categorizing the Dead Marshes. Sorry I couldn't catch you before you deleted those categories. I do not know what sort of location to call it, though. It shares a Regional chat channel with Western Gondor, but when you go there, the big text above "Now entering The Dead Marshes" says "The Wastes". It's all one Area, called "The Dead Marshes" (Or maybe just Dead Marshes, I'll have to check), but also has its own spot on the Gondor Land map like a Region. There are no Deeds there as far as I can tell, and the Orcs there don't count for the Orc-slayer of Western Gondor deed. So now I am pretty sure I was wrong before and it doesn't actually count as part of Western Gondor... Gnagerwine (talk) 17:53, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
Re: Stop
Sure, Hyacinth. I was just trying to fix all the multiple-creatures-on-one-page articles I made before, since it was made clear to me that each variety of creature always gets a separate page. Let me know if there's anything I should be doing differently and when I can continue. Gnagerwine (talk) 07:57, 3 October 2018 (UTC)
Uh, yeah, almost 6 AM. I really missed the wiki. Goodnight! Gnagerwine (talk) 09:46, 3 October 2018 (UTC)
You are missed
You are greatly missed, I hope you can forgive. Would love to talk. Rogue (talk) 17:39, 6 October 2018 (UTC)
- I re-read our discussion and I see there was a big miscommunication. I am sorry, there is no excuse - It was too early in the morning and I only saw part of what was being said or i would have responded differently. I won't say more here. Rogue (talk) 18:13, 6 October 2018 (UTC)

Cook Recipe indices
Hello Hiyacinth! Thank you for all your hard work lately, with the Cook recipes and the Food items in general. Just to note one thing though: the Recipe Index pages for the Cook profession are supposed to have an additional 'Cost' column compared to other professions – which shows the cost of storebought components (sans any vendor discounts) for the recipe, plus all those for the required ingredient recipes as well – so please don't remove that! See Help:Recipe Index for more information and guidelines. Thanks! :)

- Hello Stargazer. In regards to the removal of Cook cost table, this was dicussed around the year 2018, it should be in Discord history. When I was setting up the then new Ironfold tier. At that point in time it was agreed not to carry it forward. =) Items undergo many random changes to stat and price values, rendering the cost table obsolete. As well as it was only ever a cook thing and never took into account the farming value cost of the farmed items (Seed/water etc). It became established if we did that with cook, we would have to then propgate it among all the other craft professions which also use vendor items. Of which most do, but never have had a 'cost' table. Journeyman was the first removal of cost in 2016, Ironfold onwards have none. I am aware of the help page and this will be edited to remove the cost also. As for edit thank you's, I've browsed your history days ago. Force of habit. Nice attention to detail on punctation and links. But an overarching Thank You to all Wiki editors for furthering and updating this great resource for Lotro information! -- Hiyacinth (talk) 16:08, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- I see your points. Thanks for the explanation!
- However, discussions about changes to the wiki (particularly larger changes to its structure etc.) should be discussed on the wiki, on the relevant Discussion page(s) – not on Discord or anywhere else – for several reasons! For example: transparency, visibility, inclusiveness, traceability, perpetuity, and so on. This is especially important when it comes to policy changes and the like. :O
- It would be quite impossible to access it later on otherwise; in particular without already knowing about any prior discussion(s) having taken place! :P
- I'd say this instance is a prime example of this: the Help page states the policy as it currently stands, and there was not even so much as a hint that there had been any discussion at all on the topic – much less any consensus to change it – so the natural conclusion, of course, is then that the given policy, as it is written, would be the correct one. Which is why I commented on it. =)
- Sorry if I might sound a bit harsh or something here; I'm speaking in general – it's nothing personal and I don't mean any disrespect at all! It's just that this is a rather fundamentally important issue, and hopefully you understand where I'm coming from and the point I'm trying to make here (and also why). :)
- Cheers! --Stargazer (talk) 17:47, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- Those are valid points for sure. In my time, we would check other pages first rather than bringing up things that had obviously become obsolete, as a courtesy. =) The discussion about 'discussion' pages had come up during that time too, much change about team coordination occured. I fault you not for asking why such a thing was removed, we all have stake in the Wikis health and precision, we care about it, we guard it. The Wiki is a wide, wide world of pages, I welcome you to what we have all taken part in over the years. In regards to if I would feel your reply was harsh, not at all, overbearing, flowery long responses, sure. You are quite new though.
- In regards to your hasty reverts of others work as on your talk page, and where you felt embarrassed for doing so, and the mentioning of my name in regards to prior LM inspections.
- User:Hiyacinth/Sandbox5 Shows the status of the instance LM Scans, new instances added to Lotro since then.
- All zones at the time up to but not including the Trollshaws had been done, with some exceptions. Here: User:Hiyacinth/Sandbox4. I have multiple Lm's, enough for every instance level min/max cap, which were used for the instances. And Lm's all made purely to obtain that data. All scans were done at the same level or +/- one level as the creature, the lowest level of the scan being used keeping the +/- 1 in mind were the ones used. Yondershire & Wildwood are new additions that haven't been tended to. The scans on all mentioned mobs may now be out of date.
- In regards to your hasty reverts of others work as on your talk page, and where you felt embarrassed for doing so, and the mentioning of my name in regards to prior LM inspections.
- As to further correspondence over your now understanding of why I am removing the 'worth'. It isn't needed, I respectfully and non harshly ask you to stop. I need to finish this without having to keep halting for further discourse on what has now been established. I have hours of it ahead of me. =P Hiyacinth (talk) 19:51, 25 October 2022 (UTC)

From Sinord
Hello Hiyacinth! Just wanted to thank you for your hard work revitalizing mob pages for East Rohan, it's greatly appreciated! You've also added pics for some of the mobs that I had on my to-do list, so I am very grateful for that! You wouldn't happen to be doing the same for Wildermore sometime do you? Thanks again! --Sinordloresearcher (talk) 18:58, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
- Hiya. It's a joint effort between Taliahrose and myself. I noticed you've added alot of the missing creature images, good job. :) As for Wildermore, probably, if we do, it will be done in the same way. We still have Sutcrofts left to go on stage one of the Rohan Fix. Which is as follows:
- Stage1: Scan every single creature in East Rohan Creatures and add any missing Images.
- Stage 2:Fix the missing locations, broken links, missing Npcs.
- Stage 3:Redo all the quests again on other characters, final quest pass. Add deed involvements, etc to creature pages.
Summary when creating pages
Hello, can you please fill the summary field? Especially when creating lot of new pages, since the default is it pulls the page content as summary, they get very long and recent changes and similar pages gets a lot harder to read. I usually put just "new item" there to prevent that. Thanks. --Drono (talk) 11:14, 10 November 2022 (UTC)
