List of questions and concerns that come to mind:

Varieties of One Creature in a Region

At what point should a creature of the same name have a separate page?

For example, Mordor Salamanders are found in Dor Amarth and Talath Úrui, at different level ranges. Should they be on the same page since they are in the same region? The example of Blogmal Captain (Ram Dúath) and Blogmal Captain (Angmar East) seems to indicate not, but I am not sure if that is the proper way to do it.

And how about the level 115 enemies involved in the Allegiance quests, versus their lower level equivalents in the same area? Separate pages, or the same page?

Distinguishing Non-spoken Parts of Dialogue Boxes and Quest Chatbox Messages

The Quest boilerplate now instructs to italicize both non-spoken text in quest dialogue boxes as well as quest messages that appear in the chatbox. This can make them impossible to distinguish.

For example, in Quest:Daily Request: Report from Talath Úrui, the text Candithil relays the information to you. You commit it to memory and thank him for the report. is part of the dialogue box, but since it comes at the end, it looks as if it could be a chatbox message instead.

Varieties of Quest Dialogue

Three parts to this question. First, we need an official format for when dialogue box text varies, whether it be depending on your race (as in Quest:Intro: Where Skorgrím Fell) or if it varies each time the quest is done (as in Quest:Daily Request: A Package from Home).

Second, we need an official format of how to indicate when the chatbox dialogue varies each time an objective is completed, such as in Quest:Daily Request: Food, Water, and Words, in which the Elves' comment upon receiving the delivery varies each time.

Third, sometimes the quest can be received from multiple locations/NPCs. In this case, is the Bestowal Dialogue in Quest:Daily Expedition: Udûn and Talath Úrui the proper way to do this? I believe that is how it should be, but I want to confirm.

Deed Description for Creatures

The boilerplate says:

Why not instead just use the direct text of the deed objective? Especially if we prefer 'defeat' to 'kill'.

Multiple Quest Starters in Infobox

Continuing the above thought, how should a quest with multiple starters be listed in the infobox? I would imagine a separate line for each starting NPC, but should there be a * in front of each point on the list, or no?

Auto-bestow/Autocomplete/Landscape Quests

What is the official way to indicate quests that are begun or finished automatically? "Landscape", "Automatic Quest Bestowal", "Automatic Quest Completion"?

Keep in mind there are several ways to 'automatically' bestow a quest: defeating a creature with a floating ring, interacting with an object, or going to a certain location. I believe in the first two cases, the Quest Starter would be listed as the creature or object, correct? What about for visiting the location? "Landscape" or "Automatic Quest Bestowal"?

As for automatic completion, this comes in two forms: instant automatic completion, and the dialogue box with the "Completed" objective. How should we distinguish between these in the infobox?

Singular vs Plural

As in Orcs or Uruk?

  • Looking at Help:Names, looks as if it is about a species of creature as such, it should be plural. But I would like confirmation before I move Uruk to Uruks.

Category Page vs Separate Page

In examples such as the above, should the Orcs page be kept as it is, or moved to the Category:Orcs description?

List Order of Drops and Such

Should drops in a creature page by listed in alphabetic order, by item level, by value?

Passive, Curious, Threatening, Aggressive

How about making the creature infobox list if an enemy is passive, curious (like some bear cubs), threaten to attack, or attack on sight?

Plurals in Item Tooltips

Is there a way to put this into the template so it's automatic?

Instance Quest Completion

What should be the format for instance quest dialogue that happens after the instance is completed, such as any remaining quest text as well as the Travel Now NPC dialogue?

Also, should the finish information in the infobox reflect where the instance quest actually ends, or where it sends you after you leave the instance?

Scaling Effect Numbers

How should we represent scaling damage in effects? I see these effect pages have a chart but it's inconsistent and not part of the boilerplate. Could there be an easier way to do it?

Sic Policy

Since we transcribe a lot of text from the game, can we have a policy for denoting grammatical errors that originate from the game and are not a Wiki editor's mistake?

Locations in Multiple Areas

Could we change location infoboxes to reflect that landmarks and settlements may have more than one adjacent area? Put in a field for area2, area3, etc, and have the infobox list and link to all these areas if more than one is specified?

We should also denote somehow if a settlement is its own area, such as Bree, Dale, and Lake-town.
