A great battle took place upon the face of Cloudyhead, a battle between a Balrog and another mighty Power. The Balrog's demise broke the mountainside here.

Find Durin's Bane ^{[14.9N, 108.7W]} (NOTE: these are given starting from north, not the usual south)

These are the remains of the mighty fire demon who had hidden itself in Moria in the days of Yore.

The Door to the Clouds is actually in Durin's Way, just before you enter the cliffs. If you don't get credit for discovering the Broken Cleft as you pass through the entrance from Durin's Way, jog to the left a bit to 13.4N, 109.3W.
