Snaga appears in the The Lord of the Rings in 'Book Six, Chapter I, The Tower of Cirith Ungol'. The only surviving underling serving under Shagrat in the Tower of Cirith Ungol following the battle between Gorbag and Shagrat's orcs over Frodo's Mithril shirt, Snaga abandoned his superior and retreated into the uppermost room of the tower to torture the captured Hobbit. However, Snaga met his end when brave and loyal Samwise attacked Snaga to save his dear friend, and the orc lost his balance, falling to his death through the trapdoor of the chamber.
