How to Reach Mastery in Each Tier

Note: The given numbers are calculated on the assumption that critical success will never occur, meaning actual numbers are usually lower. Furthermore, the listed recipes are merely suggestions, chosen because they yield the most craft XP for the least resources. (The basic research ingredients are drops, from mobs or scholar nodes, used to create the higher-level items.)

Apprentice (200/400)

• For each Scroll of Minor Battle Lore, the following items are required:
  • 1 Early Third Age Relic, which requires: 2 Aged Scraps of Text and
  • 1 Aged Scraps of Text
• To attain Proficiency, craft 13 Scrolls of Minor Battle Lore, requiring 13 Early Third Age Relics, and 39 Aged Scraps of Text.

  13 × 6 xp = 78 xp; 13 × 10 xp = 130 xp; total xp = 208

• To attain Mastery, craft 25 additional (for a total of 38) Scrolls of Minor Battle Lore, requiring 25 Early Third Age Relics, and 75 Aged Scraps of Text.

  25 × 6 xp = 150 xp; 25 × 10 xp = 250 xp; total xp = 400

• Total gathered resources needed: 114 Aged Scraps of Text

Journeyman (280/560)

• For each Scroll of Lesser Battle Lore, the following items are required:
  • 1 Ruined Second Age Trinket, (which requires 2 Worn Tablet Fragments) and
  • 1 Worn Tablet Fragment
• To attain Proficiency, craft 18 Scrolls of Lesser Battle Lore, requiring 18 Ruined Second Age Trinkets, and 54 Worn Tablet Fragments.

  18 × 6 xp = 108 xp; 18 × 10 xp = 180 xp; total xp = 288

• To attain Mastery, craft 35 additional (for a total of 53) Scrolls of Lesser Battle Lore, requiring 35 Ruined Second Age Trinkets, and 105 Worn Tablet Fragments.

  35 × 6 xp = 210 xp; 35 × 10 xp = 350 xp; total xp = 560

• Total gathered resources needed: 159 Worn Tablet Fragments

Expert (360/720)

• For each Scroll of Battle Lore, the following items are required:
  • 1 Faded Sindarin Passage, which requires 2 Cracked Dwarf-carvings and
  • 1 Cracked Dwarf-carving

• To attain Proficiency, craft 23 Scrolls of Battle Lore, requiring 23 Faded Sindarin Passages, and 69 Cracked Dwarf-carvings.

  23 × 6 xp = 138 xp; 23 × 10 xp = 230 xp; total xp = 368

• To attain Mastery, craft 45 additional (for a total of 68) Scrolls of Battle Lore, requiring 45 Faded Sindarin Passages, and 135 Cracked Dwarf-carvings.

  45 × 6 xp = 270 xp; 45 × 10 xp = 450 xp; total xp = 720

• Total gathered resources needed: 204 Cracked Dwarf-carvings

Artisan (440/880)

• For each Scroll of Elder Battle Lore, the following items are required:
  • 2 Scroll of Lothlórien, each of which requires 2 Fragments of Dúnedain Script.

• To attain Profiency, craft 20 Scrolls of Elder Battle Lore by using 40 Scrolls of Lothlórien, and 80 Fragments of Dúnedain Script.
• To attain Mastery, craft 40 additional (for a total of 60) Scrolls of Elder Battle Lore, requiring 80 Scrolls of Lothlórien, and 160 Fragments of Dúnedain Script.

• Total gathered resources needed: 240 Fragments of Dúnedain Script

Master (520/1040)

• For each Scroll of Ancient Battle Lore, the following items are required:
  • 2 Undeciphered Moon-letters, each of which requires 2 Worn Elf-carvings.
• To attain Profiency, craft 24 Scrolls of Ancient Battle Lore, requiring 48 Undeciphered Moon-letters, and 96 Worn Elf-carvings.
• To attain Mastery, craft 48 additional (for a total of 72) Scrolls of Ancient Battle Lore, requiring 96 Undeciphered Moon-letters, and 192 Worn Elf-carvings.

• Total gathered resources needed: 288 Worn Elf-carvings

Supreme (600/1200)

• For each Relic of Khazad-dûm, the following items are required:
  • 2 Tattered Khuzdul Parchments, each of which requires:
    • 2 Etchings of Moria, each of which requires 2 Rune-carved Tablets.
• To attain Proficiency, craft 25 Relic of Khazad-dûm, requiring 50 Etchings of Moria, and 100 Rune-carved Tablets.
• To attain Mastery, craft 50 additional (for a total of 75) Relic of Khazad-dûm, requiring 100 Etchings of Moria, and 200 Rune-carved Tablets.

• Total gathered resources needed: 300 Rune-carved Tablets

Westfold (680/1360)

• For each  Dunland Lore-book, the following items are required:
  • 2 Tomes of Wisdom, each of which requires:
    • 2 Books of Knowledge each of which requires:
      • 2 Scrolls of Insight each of which requires:
        • 2 Scraps of Weathered Dunlending Text
• To attain Proficiency, craft 7  Dunland Lore-books, requiring 14 Tomes of Wisdom, 28 Books of Knowledge, 56 Scrolls of Insight, and 112 Scraps of Weathered Dunlending Text.
• To attain Mastery, craft 13 additional (for a total of 20)  Dunland Lore-books, requiring 26 Tomes of Wisdom, 52 Books of Knowledge, 104 Scrolls of Insight, and 208 Scraps of Weathered Dunlending Text.

• Total gathered resources needed: 320 Scraps of Weathered Dunlending Text

Eastemnet (760/1520)

• For each Scroll of Riddermark Battle Lore, the following items are required:
  • 4 Tomes of War Stories, each of which requires:
    • 1 Riddermark Leather-bound Journal
    • 2 Books of Ballads each of which requires:
      • 1 Riddermark Leather-bound Journal
      • 2 Scrolls of Poetry each of which requires:
        • 2 Scraps of Rohirric Text
• To attain Proficiency, craft 4 Scrolls of Riddermark Battle Lore, requiring 16 Tomes of War Stories, 32 Books of Ballads, 64 Scrolls of Poetry, 48 Riddermark Leather-bound Journals, and 128 Scraps of Rohirric Text.
• To attain Mastery, craft 8 additional (for a total of 12) Scrolls of Riddermark Battle Lore, requiring 32 Tomes of War Stories, 64 Books of Ballads, 128 Scrolls of Poetry, 96 Riddermark Leather-bound Journals, and 256 Scraps of Rohirric Text.

Westemnet (840/1680)

• For each Scroll of Westemnet Battle Lore, the following items are required:
  • 1 Tomes of War Campaigns, which requires:
    • 1 Riddermark Leather-bound Journal
    • 2 Books of Battle Plans each of which requires:
      • 1 Riddermark Leather-bound Journal
      • 2 Scrolls of Tactics each of which requires:
        • 2 Tattered Rohirric Parchments
• To attain Proficiency, craft 15 Scrolls of Westemnet Battle Lore, requiring 15 Tomes of War Campaigns, 30 Books of Battle Plans, 60 Scrolls of Tactics, 45 Riddermark Leather-bound Journals, and 120 Tattered Rohirric Parchments.
• To attain Mastery, craft 29 additional (for a total of 44) Scrolls of Westemnet Battle Lore, requiring 29 Tomes of War Campaigns, 58 Books of Battle Plans, 116 Scrolls of Tactics, 87 Riddermark Leather-bound Journals, and 232 Tattered Rohirric Parchments.
