Walkthrough & Notes

Make sure you have a costume. You should initially have 2 and further can be bartered from Mogo Bracegirdle standing just behind the quest giver. To complete this quest, you must visit Housing Neighbourhoods where players have placed any of the following Doormats:   Treats Doormat - Apple Goblins   Treats Doormat - Ent-bark   Treats Doormat - Honey-bears   Treats Doormat - Jam Tarts   Treats Doormat - Liquorice Twists   Treats Doormat - Mad Baggins' Gold   Treats Doormat - Marshmallows   Treats Doormat - Mint Turtles Use any six of these items to advance the quest objective. Doormats can be used more than once, but have a bit of a cooldown. Placing the free doormat you receive from A Promise of Treats and of Trickery at your own house during the Harvest Festival is a great way to help other players complete this quest! Be sure to set the housing permissions so that everyone can use decorations. With Update 37, Doormats can be placed on Furniture hooks, so you can now have all eight Treats Doormats displayed in your home at the same time. Using any Treats Doormat will place a candy quest item in your bag. Eating the candy collected contributes to deeds: Treats or Trickery: Just a Taste Treats or Trickery: Second Helpings Treats or Trickery: Clearing the Table Contributes to A Spirited Harvest First-time completion triggers and auto-completes the deed Treats or Trickery: First Harvest. Don't get discouraged if you try "Collecting..." candy but then see the "You cannot take that" error; even if you cannot pick up the candy due to already completing Treats or Trickery: Clearing the Table, it will count as being collected toward this quest.

Bestowal dialogue 'Are you ready, <name>? I hope big and little folks have laid out all the doormats that I gave them, because I plan to put on my best costume and visit every one of them! 'Will you do the same? Why don't you go put on a costume, gather some treats, and then come back and tell me all about it?' Background Begonia Grubb has been giving out doormats and treats, in hopes of starting a Treats or Trickery tradition in housing neighbourhoods. Objective 1 Collect treats while in costume (0/6) You should wear a costume and collect treats from housing neighbourhood doormats. To help participation in this event, be sure to place the doormat you received from Begonia Grubb on your own house! More doormats can be obtained from Mogo Bracegirdle. Objective 2 Return to Begonia Grubb Begonia Grubb can be found in Wistmead, by the Party tree, and in the town centre of all housing neighbourhoods. Return to Begonia Grubb and tell her about the treats you collected while in costume. Begonia Grubb: 'You did it, <name>? Oh, how grand that my plan has come off! Tell me all about it. Which treats did you get? Did you try any of them? I must hear everything - everything!'
