Completing the quest The Battle of Dol Baran will unlock the quest: The Pit of Iron This quest, The Pit of Iron, auto completes as you approach the cave mouth with: You spot something lying next to the cave entrance... Touch the "Dwarf-make Pick-axe" which after you have grabbed The Pit of Iron now lies outside the cave. The "Dwarf-make Pick-axe" starts the next quest, A Familiar Face. Starting A Familiar Face will make the Dwarf Ondor appear INSIDE the Pit of Iron. For the "Dwarf-make Pick-axe" to appear, you must have completed the quests: Imminent Collapse and The Battle of Dol Baran.

Bestowal dialogue Oh, there was one other thing - one of my men spotted a dwarf heading into a cave north-east of here. We think that may be where the orcs around here have been coming from, but we haven't been able to spare any men to check it out. You may want to take a look around...' Background Captain Féarn mentioned that one of his men spotted a Dwarf poking around the entrance to a cave north-east of Dol Baran. From the description it sounds like it might have been Ondor. Knowing how excitable Ondor can be, there's a fair chance he's gotten himself in some sort of trouble up there, and it might be a good idea to scout out the entrance to that cave. Objective 1 Find some sign of Ondor. You should see if you can discover any sign of Ondor the Dwarf near the entrance to the Pit of Iron in the north-east Heathfells. This quest auto completes as you approach the cave mouth with: You spot something lying next to the cave entrance...
