Bestowal dialogue

The Dunlendings and Rohirrim have agreed to put aside their differences in an attempt to escape from their brutal Orcish overseers in the deadly mines hidden beneath the Heathfells.

Background

Having made what perperations you could, you must help the Orc's slaves reach the exit of the mines as you fight your way past the brutal Orc-overseers.

Objective 1

  • Talk to Edhere

Speak with Edhere and tell him to lead his men out of the mine.

Edhere: 'My men are ready to leave, <name>. We will make for the bridge across the centre of the mine and free as many of the slaves as we can along the way.'
Edhere: 'Now is the time to buy our escape from this forsaken pit! There is no turning back!'

Objective 2

Speak with Ondor and release him from his cell.

Ondor: 'Aye, well, your timing's good. Those accursed Orcs snuck up on me and all went black! I woke up in here just a short while ago.
'It looks like my stay is to be a short one, though, so let's be about it.'
Ondor: "It's about time we move...now lets get out of here!"

Objective 3

Meriun: 'We will fight alongside the Horse-lords, for even they know far greater honour than these foul Orcs.'
Meriun: "Come, my friends, we must put aside our enmity and earn our freedom, if we are ever to see the sun again!"

Objective 4

  • Talk to Ondor

Fight your way towards the forges and free any slaves you come across.

Ondor: Well, there goes the alarm. The Orcs will be after us now. Let's cut our way thorough and quick!
'There's a number of slaves near the forges, so we had best head that way and see how many we can free as we go.'

Objective 5

  • Ondor, Edhere and Meriun must survive.

Fight your way up onto the platforms to reach the bridge spanning the cavern.

You have made it to the forges

Objective 6

  • Talk to Ondor

Fight your way up onto the platforms to reach the bridge spanning the cavern.

Ondor: 'The bridge is up at the top of this platform...it's the quickest way out, so that's the we way we are going before a hundred more of these brutes come up from the deep caverns.'

Objective 7

  • Ondor, Edhere and Meriun must survive.
You have made it to the bridge

Objective 8

  • Talk to Ondor

The shortest way out of the Orc-mines lies across a long trestlebridge that spans the cavern. It is likely to be the most perilous step of your escape.

Ondor: 'Well, if they don't have some trouble waiting for us on this bridge, then I will shave my beard, so gird your loins...it gets rough from here.'

Objective 9

  • Ondor, Edhere and Meriun must survive.

The shortest way out of the Orc-mines lies across a long trestlebridge that spans the cavern. It is likely to be the most perilous step of your escape.

(If you want to save the slaves across the bridge, make sure to save them during the fight near them, and before you reach the slope, or their quest rings will disappear. Another option is to go there by yourself by not talking to Ondor when you have reached the bridge, and instead go across to release the slaves first. The orc captain only appears on the bridge after you have talked to Ondor.)
You have made it to the slopes

Objective 10

  • Talk to Ondor

You must make your way up the slopes, then fight your way past any remaining Orcs to the exit of the caverns.

Ondor: 'We are almost there. If we can make it to the cavern entrance before anymore Orcs show up, we will be free.'

Objective 11

  • Ondor, Edhere and Meriun must survive.

You must make your way up the slopes, then fight your way past any remaining Orcs to the exit of the caverns.

You have made it to the exit

Objective 12

  • Talk to Ondor the Dwarf

You should speak with Ondor the Dwarf regarding the escape from the Orc-mines.

Ondor: 'We made it. Let's be out of this cavern and let our allies know what is going on down here!'
