Walkthrough

This side objective starts immediately, making it almost necessary to take preemptive measures for this. If you are able to, order the Commander into Two-handed stance to aid in eliminating the enemies. The Goblin Infiltrators in particular will cause heavy damage to the gate and should go down first. Allowing the engineers to be defeated will prolong the side objective as your progress depends on how many survive each wave. Notes This quest takes in the lower level of the Hornburg. Make note of this and prepare accordingly. Allied NPCs will not attack the battering ram, allowing them to focus on other foes, but leaving it to you to destroy it. Do not move beyond the walls where the enemies spawn as you will be instantly defeated.

Background The central gatehouse of the Hornburg is being assaulted by a large battering ram. The enemy has made an aggressive move to attempt to penetrate the central entrance and if successful will make it near impossible for the Rohirrim to hold against multiple fronts. Objective Allow the engineers to fortify the door (0/24) Do not allow doors to be destroyed Do not allow the engineers to be defeated (0/4) Do not allow the Gatehouse Door to be destroyed Merit Rating This quest starts with Partial Rating Merit.
