- There are many drakes and dwarves seen in the mission, which are merely scenery -- they cannot be interacted with and thus do not serve to progress the mission. The dwarves that are the objects of the Challenge objective have nameplates of simply "Longbeard" (if nameplates are enabled), and when approached, the message These dwarves are in need of their spirits raised! appears. Selecting one and using the challenge emote -- either by clicking the emote icon in the quest tracker, typing /challenge at the command line, or some other means -- will suffice to progress the mission, with respect to that entire group, with the confirmation message The dwarves cheer as they continue to defend the mountain. Any given group can only be used to progress that quest objective only once. The nameplates of a challenge group, or an injured Longbeard, will change to Fighting Longbeard after your interaction, although the previously-injured ones despawn after a short run.
- /challenge can be issued without breaking stealth.
- /challenge can usually be issued -- and counted -- multiple times, if you click rapidly
- The keys/combos for "select nearest/next/previous NPC" can be used to target both injured Longbeards, and members of challenge groups.
- There should be sufficient drakes unavoidably in the way of other quest objectives -- it shouldn't be necessary to pull them from out-of-the-way spots. Worse come to worst, some can be picked up on the way back down the mountain. Unneeded drakes can be bypassed using Stealth, but Minstrel Song of Distraction appears to be disallowed against dragon-kind.
- After completing your objectives, there is a limited time (2 minutes) before you will be automatically ejected from the instance. You need to find and open the "Mission Reward" chest before this happens. Defeating more enemies does not reset the timer!
