"Lhaereth the Stained has invaded the Circle of Madness seeking information. It has brought her to my doorstep, the Halls of Black Lore. She may perhaps gain what she seeks, but I have one rule that all who enter must observe: Nothing for nothing."
Background
You have entered the Halls of Black Lore to uncover what Lhaereth seeks, but danger is near.
Objective 1
- Talk to Faeron
- Do not be seen!
You have entered the Halls of Black Lore.
You should speak to Faeron.
- Faeron: Stay together, stay quiet. Remember: if Lhaereth is already here, do not engage.'
Objective 2
- Follow Faeron
- Do not be seen!
You should follow Faeron and keep to the shadows.
- Lhaereth bursts into the Halls!
- Faeron says, "Hide!"
Objective 3
- Listen to the conversation
- Do not be seen!
Lhaereth has entered and is speaking to one who can only be the keeper of the Halls of Black Lore.
You should listen to their conversation.
- Lhaereth the Stained shouts, "Archivist! I have scoured this city and slain many of Gothmog's soldiers for the information I seek. I know you must have it here. Come forth, or suffer my wrath."
- Dolenthol says, "Is that her? Lhaereth the Stained?"
- Dolguzigir, the Dark Archivist shouts, "Cease your threats, Lady of Blight. I owe no allegiance to the False King."
- Lhaereth the Stained says, "Well, well. You have chosen wisely to join my side."
- Dolguzigir, the Dark Archivist shouts, "You are mistaken. My allegiance is only to knowledge. To the Halls of Black Lore. It is mine to safeguard. Nothing is added or removed without my permission."
- Lhaereth the Stained shouts, "Insolent fool. Give me what I seek or I will burn your precious archive to the ground! WHERE IS THE TREE?"
- Dolguzigir, the Dark Archivist shouts, "Nothing for nothing, Lady of Blight. A fair exchange is required."
- Lhaereth moves to strike the archivist again, then stops. Her expression relaxes
- Lhaereth the Stained shouts, "As you wish. I will gift this archive with the recipe for my Great Plague."
- With a snap of his fingers, Dolguzigir summons a large tome
- Lhaereth flips through the pages, quickly reading the tome
- Lhaereth the Stained shouts, "My, the Witch-king was quite productive in his time. Hm, the Houses of Lamentation..."
- Dolguzigir, the Dark Archivist shouts, "If you are satisfied, you may follow me to uphold your end of our bargain. This way, if you please."
- Rhadrog says, "They are heading this way!"
- You hear a sudden crash and a yelp!
Objective 4
- Escape the Halls
- Do not be seen!
Someone, or something, has created a diversion for you!
You should escape the Halls of Black Lore!
- Faeron says, "That sounded like-"
- Rhadrog says, "Viznak!"
- Dolenthol says, "Who?"
- Dolguzigir, the Dark Archivist shouts, "Intruders!"
- Faeron says, "We need to move!"
- Rhadrog says, "But what if it was him? We can't leave him!"
- Faeron says, "We cannot fight her! Go!"
- Rhadrog says, "Curses!"
- You have safely made it outside
- Dolenthol: 'I do not think we were seen. We should return to the tower.'
