Walkthrough & Notes

This quest is meant for a fellowship. If you Choose to undertake this quest solo you will receive an inspiration bonus, but the challenge will be great. Many corpses and carrion on the ground spawn Bloated Corpse-crawlers and Blood-leeches. When facing Morven, she calls upon Angmarim Bloodletter Elders as her morale begins to falter. Upon completing the instance, you will be automatically ported to Elrond's Library in Rivendell.

Quest Text

Bestowal dialogue Laerdan's Escape "Éin, the questioner left behind at Barad Tironn, revealed that Laerdan has been moved from Annúminas to Sammath Baul in Angmar. Time is running short for the Elf-lord." Background Laerdan is being held captive in Sammath Baul. Objective 1 Find Laerdan Enter Sammath Baul and find Laerdan. Tarkrîp Jailor says, "Keep messing with those bodies, and Morven will have you up for questioning!" Tarkrîp Poisoner says, "Get up, get up! I hear someone coming." Tarkrîp Prison-guard says, "But why are we here guarding that Elf?" Tarkrîp Jailor says, "If anything gets up these stairs, Morven will have your hides." Tarkrîp Jailor says, "Stop them! The Elf must not escape!" Morven says, "What is this? More prisoners?" Morven says, "It seems you have bested my guards, but that is of little consequence." Morven says, "Were you sent here for the Elf?" Morven says, "It matters not. You will tell me all that you know before I deliver you to Amarthiel!" Morven says, "Do you think you can best me? We shall see!" Morven says, "Must we continue with this game?" Morven says, "You will be tortured until you tell me all that you know!" Defeated Morven Laerdan: Laerdan is nearly unconscious and wounded. He must be taken to Rivendell to Elrond for you doubt that he will survive without his aid.
