Bestowal Dialogue

Standing by a banner on the north-western side of Starkhaven, you reflect upon the construction of such a fleet as the Song. It must have required a tremendous effort from thousands of workers for many years, and such wo rk is revealed by the sprawling vastness of the ship-yard.

You decide to explore Starkhaven and see what you can learn of the construction effort.

Background

The ship-yard at Sûg Nidar has constructed dozens of ships, with even more still in progress. You should explore the vast ship-yard at Starkhaven.

Objective 1

Standing by a banner on the north-western side of Starkhaven, you decide to explore the ship-yard and learn what you can of its workings.

Objective 2

  • Explore north-west frame construction
  • Explore western timber assembly
  • Explore western central scaffolding
  • Explore the central keep of Starkhaven
  • Explore eastern central scaffolding
  • Explore the south-east forges
  • Explore south-east frame construction
  • Explore eastern timber assembly

The ship-yard at Starkhaven sprawls along the shore at Sûg Nidar, birth-place of a mighty fleet.

The frame of a ship waits to be finished on the north-western side of the ship-yard
Stacked lumber and timbers wait here for delivery to ships on the west side
A great wooden scaffolding towers above the western side of the central ship-yard
The keep at Starkhaven is the heart of Ordâkhai power in Sûg Nidar
Wooden scaffolding claws the sky on the eastern side of the central ship-yard
Anvils stand unused at the south-east forges. Are the crews already armed?
The shell of a ship waits to be completed among its finished brethren
Piles of timber stand idle on the eastern side of the ship-yard

Objective 3

  • Completed

You have explored the inner workings of the ship-yard at Starkhaven, and learned much of how such a mighty fleet could be constructed.

Completed: Your exploration of the ship-yard at Starkhaven has revealed something troubling: despite the hive of activity it must have been over the years, construction has now slowed tremendously. Many ships remain unfinished, and skeletal hulls stand where they were begun.
The Song of Waves and Wind has no need of further ships. The fleet is large enough already, and the threat it poses is very real. You and your friends must do something, or all of coastal Middle-earth is in danger.
