Bestowal Dialogue

'None saw us arrive, <name>. Might we use this to our advantage?

'I doubt not that the bounds of this land are watched by sharp-eyed guards, but the Temámir who drove this waggon is known to them. He has carried us, all unknowing, to a place where it must be assumed every person belongs.

'I hear the sounds of an encampment to the north-west. What if we simply walk among these people and see what we might learn of their purpose here, and how near this secret fleet may be to completion?'

Background

You and Rahâzi have arrived at Sûg Nidar, the Fearwater, and must now learn of some way to prevent the Song of Waves and Wind from setting sail.

You can return to the Fearwater by using the banner at Khanâg Valoyar, in An Shêru.

Objective 1

The Ordâkhai camp of Khomar Bóha is to the north-west of the waggon in which you arrived.

Rahâzi: 'Carefully approach the camp to the north-west and we will test this supposition of mine.
'They will have no reason to be suspicious of us, unless we give them one.'
The soldiers at Khomar Bóha do not seem suspicious of you... yet

Objective 2

Your Suspicion Level is: LOW

Onúkho is in the centre of Khomar Bóha.

Your Suspicion Level is: LOW.

Onúkho: 'Hoy, stranger! You must be new here. All glory to the Hûl!'
You repeat the sentiment, and Onúkho nods pleasantly.

Elf version

'It warms my heart to hear it, and from an Elf! They say your kind are deadly with both sword and bow, and it is good to have those talents put to use for us, and not against us, for once!'

Hobbit version

'It warms my heart to hear it! I hope you will not think me impolite, but I have never met one of your kind before. Are you a dwarf?' You tell Onúkho that you are a Hobbit. He nods again, but it is clear that he still does not know what that is. 'It takes many different peoples to construct such a fleet as this one, I suppose.'

Other version

'It warms my heart to hear it!'

All

'The Orcs claim to share our purpose here, but I do not believe it. If they thought Mordor had the advantage they would turn on us in the span of a breath! And the Corsairs down at Bâkhridar and at Starkhaven mumble their oaths, but they resent the Hûl, I am sure of it. I wish Ordâkh had no need of either, but this great work began before I was even born, and I was not consulted! It has taken great cost in lives to build the Song of Waves and Wind, and now we wait only for the signal to sail!'

Hobbit version

'I am not comparing you to the Orcs or the Corsairs, of course! A Hobbit is unlike either of those, I am sure! All glory to the Hûl!'

All

'You are fortunate to join us today, stranger. Habâti the Dwarf has just arrived, and he brings goods and provisions from far away. He comes back every few weeks and sets up shop. His arrival is always welcome... it helps to break up the monotony of our days, which are spent mostly in waiting. His prices could be lower, though, I admit it.'
The soldiers at Khomar Bóha do not seem suspicious of you... yet

Objective 3

Your Suspicion Level is: LOW

You should see what is being stored in the amphorae located on the eastern side of Khomar Bóha.

Your Suspicion Level is: LOW.

Onúkho: 'If you cause no trouble, no trouble will come to you. That is something the Orcs could stand to learn, and the Corsairs would do well to remember!'
The amphorae contain fresh, easily-transportable water for the use of the Ordâkhai

Objective 4

Your Suspicion Level is: MEDIUM

A map just to the north seems promising.

Your Suspicion Level is: MEDIUM.

Onúkho: 'If you cause no trouble, no trouble will come to you. That is something the Orcs could stand to learn, and the Corsairs would do well to remember!'
Even as you commit the map to memory, a woman calls out to you!

Objective 5

  • Talk to Jóla and explain yourself
Your Suspicion Level is: HIGH

Jóla has caught you examining the map of Sûg Nidar, and she demands to hear your explanation!

Your Suspicion Level is: HIGH.

Jóla: 'What do you think you're doing? You should not be lingering in this place!
'Habâti the Dwarf has just arrived, but instead of going to see him you insist upon poking into places where you do not belong? What were you looking at just now?'
You tell Jóla that you were just about to go see Habâti, but you were worrying that you would not be able to afford his unreasonable prices. She stares at you suspiciously.
'Go on, then. Into the main tent with you.'
You have no choice but to go inside the central tent of Khomar Bóha
A line has formed inside the central tent

Objective 6

Your Suspicion Level is: HIGH

You have no choice but to go inside the central tent of Khomar Bóha.

Your Suspicion Level is: HIGH.

Jóla: 'The Temámir has set up his wares inside the main tent! Hurry now, or you will miss him.
'Delay will not lower his prices for you, or for anyone. Go on, then.'

Objective 7

Your Suspicion Level is: MEDIUM

The Temámir Habâti has set up a shop for the Ordâkhai in the central tent of Khomar Bóha.

Your Suspicion Level is: MEDIUM.

Habâti: 'Do I know you, stranger? You look familiar to me for some reason.'
You assure Habâti that you and he have never met, but before he can respond the Ordâkhai erupt in a chorus of complaints.
'There is a line,' Habâti says, and you step back before you draw any further attention to yourself.
You should walk calmly out of Khomar Bóha without arousing further suspicion

Objective 8

  • Walk calmly out of Khomar Bóha and arouse no further suspicion
Your Suspicion Level is: LOW

You should walk calmly out of Khomar Bóha without arousing further suspicion.

Your Suspicion Level is: LOW.

Habâti: 'Hmmm... are you certain we have not met?'

Objective 9

Rahâzi is outside the Ordâkhai camp of Khomar Bóha.

Rahâzi: 'How fared you within the enemy encampment, <name>?'
You describe to Rahâzi the map you memorized, and she nods agreeably, assigning names to locations in her head.
'I too have learned some things that may be of use to us. The Ordâkhai are not alone in Sûg Nidar, and they are not happy about it.'
