Background
Caras Gelebren, the Silver Bastion, was once the capital of Tham Mírdain and the jewel of Eregion. Alas, it was brought to ruin long ago when Sauron, seeking to lay claim to the Rings of Power, gathered his vast armies and destroyed all of Eregion.
Objective 1
Celebrimbor is leading the defence of Caras Gelebren against the armies of the Enemy.
You should talk to Celebrimbor.
- Celebrimbor: 'It is as we feared - the Enemy walks among his servants at last. I am told that he still guises himself in the form of Antheron, but the evil in his heart struggles to conceal itself upon his visage.
- 'Sauron has ceased his attack for but a moment, but it will not be long before his forces are upon us again.
- 'Defend against the forces of the Enemy and keep them from breaching the inner gates of Caras Gelebren. Fall back if you must, for we cannot bear the loss of any more of our warriors. In the meantime, I shall prepare our final defences within the walls.
- 'If the time should come that the Enemy himself breaches the city, we shall make our stand there - upon the very steps of the House of the Mírdain!'
Objective 2
Celebrimbor is leading the defence of Caras Gelebren against the armies of the Enemy.
You should talk to Celebrimbor.
- Celebrimbor says, "Hearken to me, warriors! This day we stand in defiance of Sauron himself!"
- Celebrimbor says, "We shall cast the Enemy from our city once and for all!"
Objective 3
- Defend against the first assault
- Do not allow Faeldor to be defeated
After destroying the lower city, the Enemy has renewed the assault on Caras Gelebren.
You must defend against the first assault and allow Celebrimbor to prepare the final defences of the House of the Mírdain.
- Faeldor says, "Lord Celebrimbor is right! He and the others must ready our defences within the walls if we are to survive this siege!"
- Faeldor says, "Let us hold the watch-tower and delay the Enemy for as long as we can!"
- Faeldor says, "Here they come!"
- Faeldor says, "We have earned a brief respite, but it won't be long before they resume the attack."
Objective 4
- Defend against the second assault
- Do not allow Faeldor to be defeated
- Do not allot the Mírdain warriors at the north gate to be defeated
The first assault has been broken, but the forces of the Enemy continue to advance upon Caras Gelebren.
You must hold fast against the second assault.
- Faeldor says, "It may still stand, but the watch-tower is lost. We must fall back!"
- Faeldor says, "Follow me!"
- Faeldor says, "The forces of the Enemy are on the march!"
- Faeldor says, "We must hold the gate!"
- Faeldor says, "Do not despair, my kin! We shall repel the Enemy!"
- Faeldor says, "I fear we shall not have long to rest!"
Objective 5
- Defend against the third assault
- Do not allow Faeldor to be defeated
- Do not allot the Mírdain warriors at the north gate to be defeated
- Do not allot the Mírdain warriors at the south gate to be defeated
The second assault has been broken, but the forces of the Enemy continue to advance upon Caras Gelebren.
You must hold fast against the third assault.
- Faeldor says, "Let us fall back to just within the gates!"
- Faeldor says, "The gate-walls shall hinder the advance of the Enemy!"
- Faeldor says, "Go and aid our warriors at the south gate!"
- Faeldor says, "To arms!"
- Faeldor says, "The Enemy's forces return... and in greater numbers!"
Objective 6
Faeldor can be found at the northern gates of Caras Gelebren.
You have successfully defended against the third assault on Caras Gelebren, but the forces of the Enemy vastly outnumber you. You should talk to Faeldor.
- Faeldor: 'We have held them at the gates thus far, but I do not think it will last. The Enemy knows we have no escape - he toys with us!
- 'Yet a cornered foe is not one with which to be trifled. It will be as Lord Celebrimbor said. We will make our stand together before the House of the Mírdain and cast the Enemy from Eregion!
- 'You must tell Lord Celebrimbor that we cannot hold the gates for much longer. Do not worry for me! I'll follow as soon as I am able, and we will stand together before the end!
- 'Go!'
Objective 7
Celebrimbor can be found at the House of the Mírdain at the easternmost reaches of Caras Gelebren.
Faeldor has asked you to tell Celebrimbor that the forces of the Enemy will soon breach the inner gates of Caras Gelebren. You should talk to Celebrimbor.
- Faeldor says, "The Enemy shall not triumph! Glory to the Mírdain!"
- Celebrimbor: 'Alas for Caras Gelebren! Alas for the Mírdain! Alas that it should come to this!
- 'I do not doubt Faeldor's words: the gates will not hold. We must defend the House from the forces of the Enemy. Sauron must not find that which he seeks!
- 'As soon as the other warriors have fallen back, we'll stand to-'
Objective 8
- Defend against the fourth assault
- Do not allow Celebrimbor to be defeated
The Enemy has breached the southern gates of Caras Gelebren.
You must hold fast against the fourth assault and aid Celebrimbor in the defence of the House of the Mírdain.
- A horn blares as the Enemy renews the assault on Caras Gelebren!
- Celebrimbor says, "The Enemy's forces have renewed their assault!"
- Celebrimbor says, "Bolster the front! Caras Gelebren must not fall!"
Objective 9
- Defend against the final assault
- Do not allow Celebrimbor to be defeated
The Enemy has overrun the gates of Caras Gelebren.
You must hold fast against the final assault and aid Celebrimbor in the defence of the House of the Mírdain.
- Celebrimbor says, "The forces of the Enemy return!"
- Celebrimbor says, "Our foes press the attack!"
- Celebrimbor says, "Hold back the Orcs! Do not allow them one step further into our city!"
Objective 10
- Defeat the Enemy's champion
- Do not allow Celebrimbor to be defeated
You have broken the final assault upon Caras Gelebren, but the Enemy has sent one of his champions to ensure the doom of Caras Gelebren.
You must defeat the Enemy's champion.
- Núlgoth says, "Long have you toiled to preserve your legacy, but it is for naught."
- Núlgoth says, "All of your works shall crumble to ashes!"
- Núlgoth says, "Your time is over! The doom of Eregion is at hand!"
- Núlgoth says, "The fires of Udûn burn within me!"
- Núlgoth says, "Burn to ash!"

- Celebrimbor says, "Could it be the faintest glimmer of shame, or is there truly so little left of who you once were?"
- Amarthiel says, "Do not speak to me of shame, Celebrimbor!"
- Amarthiel says, "It was you who welcomed Antheron into Eregion."
- Amarthiel says, "You who let him walk among your people that you might flourish under his tutelage."
- Amarthiel says, "It was not Antheron who deceived you, but you yourself!"
- Amarthiel says, "You alone bear the guilt of what is to come!"
- Celebrimbor says, "Heed my words, Amarthiel."
- Celebrimbor says, "No matter the guise in which he cloaks himself, Sauron shall never possess what he seeks."
- Celebrimbor says, "This I swear... to my last breath!"
- Amarthiel says, "So be it!"
- Amarthiel says, "Kneel before me!"
- Amarthiel says, "I call you to my side, servants!"
- Amarthiel says, "Embrace me, Narchuil!"
- Celebrimbor says, "Lay down your weapons!"
- Celebrimbor says, "Enough blood has been spilled."
- Celebrimbor says, "Do not forget this mercy, Amarthiel."
- Celebrimbor says, "If ever you dare to return, I will not spare you again."
- Amarthiel says, "There will be nothing left to return to, Celebrimbor."
- Amarthiel says, "Yours is the mercy of a fool."

Objective 11
The Enemy's champion has been defeated, but the day is not yet won.
You should talk to Celebrimbor.
- Celebrimbor: 'We have stood fast in the face of the Enemy, but this respite will not last.
- 'Sauron's forces have encircled Caras Gelebren, and try as they might, the armies of Gil-galad and Elrond have not yet been able to pierce them and come to our aid.
- 'I weep for all those we have lost, and I pray that their sacrifices were not in vain.'
Objective 12
- Defend Caras Gelebren from the Enemy
The forces of the Enemy have overrun the city, and though you have triumphed over one of the Enemy's champions, Caras Gelebren is doomed.
You should stand with Celebrimbor against the Enemy.
- Celebrimbor says, "Let us hope that Gil-galad and the others shall soon arrive or all will be lost!"
- Sauron says, "All is lost, Celebrimbor."
- Sauron says, "But with your aid, I may yet find what I seek."
- Celebrimbor says, "You!"
- Celebrimbor says, "You need not guise yourself in a fair form any longer, Sauron."
- Celebrimbor says, "Why still do you wear the face of Antheron?"
- Sauron says, "That you might look upon the face of a friend one last time, Celebrimbor."
- Celebrimbor says, "All of the Elves make war against you."
- Celebrimbor says, "What you have done this day will not go unanswered."
- Sauron says, "It matters not."
- Sauron says, "I have wrought an army greater than any in this world since the age of Morgoth."
- Sauron says, "Do you not see?"
- Sauron says, "All of your triumphs and all of your failures were of my design."
- Sauron says, "Your city will be unmade and your people slain to the last."
- Sauron says, "When at last your will is broken, you will surrender the Rings of Power."
- Sauron says, "The Valar have abandoned you."
