Mirror of Galadriel

The Mirror of Galadriel is a mysterious magical silver basin owned and used by the Lady Galadriel, within the realm of Lothlórien.

The Mirror is said to grant those who look into it visions of the past, present, and possible future, though it's exact nature in hydromancy cannot fully be explained. These prophetic images often cannnot be predicted by the user, and in addition are not guarenteed to come to pass. It is possible, according to quest dialogue, that the mirror's power may be derived from Galadriel's ring, Nenya.

When the Company of the Ring came to stay within the bounds of the Golden Wood, Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee came to gaze into it's depths at the invitation of Galadriel, and saw among other things brief flashes of Gandalf the White (thought at the time to be Saruman), the Scouring of the Shire, and the blazing Eye of Sauron.

The Mirror can always be visited within Galadriel's Garden in Caras Galadhon ^{[15.9S, 66.3W]}, and adventurers, at certain moments, are given the chance to use the mystical artifact to help in their journey (see quest involvement below).
