Description
Goldwine was the 6th King of Rohan, reigning for a total of nineteen years.
Born in the Kingdom of Rohan in T.A. 2619 during the reign of his great-grandfather Aldor the Old, Goldwine was the sole child of Fréawine, who became the fifth King of Rohan in T.A. 2659. After King Fréawine passed following his twenty-one year rule, the Kingship passed then to Prince Goldwine in T.A. 2680.
Nothing is known in detail about King Goldwine's reign, except that it was a time of peace and prosperity for the Rohirrim. Ruling from Edoras, Goldwine would pass away in T.A. 2699, aged eighty. He would be succeeded as King of Rohan by his son, Déor.
