Description
Fréawine was the 5th King of Rohan, reigning for a total of twenty-one years.
Born in the Kingdom of Rohan in T.A. 2594 during the reign of his grandfather Aldor the Old, Fréawine was the sole child of Aldor's only son, Fréa, who became the fourth King of Rohan in T.A. 2645. After King Fréa passed following his fourteen-year rule, the Kingship passed then to Prince Fréawine in T.A. 2659.
Nothing is known in detail about King Fréawine's reign, except that it was a time of peace and prosperity for the Rohirrim. Ruling from Edoras, Fréawine would pass away in T.A. 2680, aged eighty-six. He would be succeeded as King of Rohan by his son, Goldwine.
Decades later, the Dunlending lord known as Freca claimed descent from King Fréawine, leading to a string of bloody conflicts between the Dunlendings and the Rohirrim in the future.
