Húrin I (Sindarin for Strong-heart), son of Belegorn, served as the 5th ruling Steward of Gondor, his rule lasting from 2204 until his death in 2244.
His tenure fell during the Watchful Peace, a period when Sauron remained hidden in the East and the Nazgul held Minas Morgul.
Hurin I administered the realm for forty years before being followed in office by his son, Túrin I.
He was likely named after Húrin of Emyn Arnen, founder of his house.
