Belegorn (Sindarin for Great-tree), son of Steward Herion, served as the 4th ruling Steward of Gondor, his rule lasting from 2148 until his death in 2204.
His tenure fell during the Watchful Peace, a period when Sauron remained hidden in the East and the Nazgul held Minas Morgul, and so there was calm in the land of Gondor.
He died at age 130, and his son Húrin I succeeded him as Steward.
