Description

Gabilthurkhu, the Great-way, was once a great trade-road, running from the East-gate of Khazad-dûm to the town of Amdân and up into the Misty Mountains. The road is much degraded since the fall of Khazad-dûm, but many of the old markers can still be found. The old Great-way leads from Amdân across the Labam-gairu to Khur Azan, where it turns northwest and runs through the orkish fort at Kamaz-kala and on past Durin's Stone until it is lost in Muru Azog before the East-gate. Before Kamaz-kala the way is safe but for wildlife, but beyond the Battle of Azanulbizar rages and it is a simple thing to get caught up in the fighting.
