Description
Folcred and Fastred were Princes of Rohan, and the elder sons of King Folcwine.
Born in T.A. 2858 in Rohan during the reign of their grandfather Folca, the twins would become skilled warriors in the reign of their father. In T.A. 2885, Folcred and Fastred were sent by their father alongside many men to the aid of Steward Túrin II of Gondor to combat the Haradrim in the conflicts in the south.
The coalition of Gondor and Rohan successfully defended Ithilien from the Southron invaders, even managing to fend off the gargantuan Mûmakil at the Crossings of Poros, though the Princes were lost in that great battle in Harondor. Folcred and Fastred were entombed in a burial mound high on the shores of the River Poros, known now as Haudh in Gwanûr, and it has been said for many years after that the enemies of Rohan and Gondor tremble to pass the mound.
As King Folcwine's two eldest sons had perished in the south, the Kingship of Rohan passed to his last remaining son Fengel, who would prove to be a bitter and selfish King during his reign.
