Quotes
- What can you tell me about the Defence of Faldham?
- 'Our enemy is a cowardly one indeed. Instead of coming here, where we have defences and forces at the ready, they burn and pillage the countryside. Looking at the smoke rising in the South it appears they have arrived at Faldham and begun in earnest. I cannot convince my leaders here to send any men beyond what few left of their own accord to defend their families. I hope their presence will be enough.'
- What can you tell me about Dwergfant?
- 'The Dwergfant is an ancient dwarf cistern, built into the southern foothills of the Misty Mountains west of Stangard. I do not know how it works, but we discovered it years ago when the waters of the Limlight became brackish and poisoned. We traced the river upstream until we found a flooded chamber, filled with levers, pipes and a still fetid pool. As we pulled on the chains, the water roared to life and a great vortex began to spin. Soon after, the river became clear and safe again. We now make regular trips to the Dwergfant to ensure its mechanisms are open and working, and the Limlight is safe.'
- What can you tell me about Ost Magol?
- 'Ost Magol is a place I have never been myself and for that I am overly grateful. An ancient palace of a mad Gondorian sorcerer, hallways that lead to nothing, doors that do not take you back where you came, why, doors that would take you and I to different rooms. It is a cursed place, but an important one. The sorcerer was a master weapons maker and those who have returned from the ruins have brought back sketches and patterns of fantastic weapons. Ones that could help us to turn the tide of evil.'
- What can you tell me about Sâd Torech?
- 'Sâd Torech was a village of Gondor until the ground shook and the town literally split in two. The residents didn't stand a chance against its fearsome might, while some were crushed beneath building, many were swept away by the river that now swiftly flows through its centre. Within a moment of the tragedy striking, they were all gone. There is nothing we can do for them now, but they may still be able to aid us. The town was known for its pitch, a thick black sticky substance that can seal a leak on a boat or burn for an entire night. They stored it in vases that may still be intact.'
- "Ho, there! Will you stay and speak with me?"
