A Defence in the Darkness
'In the woods near Lin Giliath, a broken refuge of the Elves, Stone-trolls have gotten the better of a small host who marched to the defence of their haven. Their fate stands upon a precarious edge, but your arrival has brought them hope when their doom was nigh.'

Background

You have come to the Stone-troll caves near Lin Giliath to defend Andyri's Elves while they recover from their pitched battle.

Objective 1

  • Talk to Andyri
  • Do not allow any of the Elves to die

Andyri is waiting to speak with you inside the Stone-troll caves.

Andyri: 'At last, <name>! We must hurry to the Elves of my company, for they are weak from their battle'and will not long be able to defend themselves.'
  • Follow Andyri
  • Do not allow any of the Elves to die
Andyri says, "This way, <name>"
Andyri says, "Friends, I have returned with <name>!"
Wounded Elf says, "At last!"
Andyri says, "Were you able to defeat the Duvárdain presence from these caves?"
Wounded Elf says, "We slew many, but we are winded from the struggle and many Duvárdain remain."
Wounded Elf says, "We need time to rest. We are weakened and will fight only if we must."
Andyri says, "And it is almost daybreak; the Stone-trolls willsoon return to their caves."
Andyri says, "<name>! you must protect us until these Elves are rested and ready to fight!"
Wounded Elf says, "Keep the fighting from us until we are rested, Warden!"
  • Defend the Elves until they have recovered their strength
  • Do not allow any of the Elves to die
Rested Elf says, "To battle!"

Objective 3

  • Talk to Andyri

Andyri is waiting to speak with you inside the Stone-troll caves.

Andyri says, "We have done it, <name>! Your skill as a Warden has made the difference!"
Andyri: 'Endless thanks, <name>. If you had not been here...well, there is little point in walking that sad road.
'You have saved the Elves of my company, friend Warden, and I thank you for it.'
  • Talk to Andyri
Andyri: 'I am ready to leave this place, <name>. We were victorious this day, thanks to your able defence, but it was almost not so. You have my thanks and the thanks of my friends for it.'
