Lore

After the fall of Durin, terror grasped the dwarves of Moria, now seized by panic and fear. Good Náin took his father's place and strove to quell the menace that threatened his halls, wishing to restore peace to his brethren. His short reign was a valiant one, but he too fell to the Bane of Khazad-dûm.
This once-proud palace of the Dwarf-lords has been transformed and befouled by foggy nests of bugs — some of them bigger then Men — that attack intruders with bone-smashing mandibles and sickening sprays of poison bile. What was once the Palace of Náin is now a filthy nest of ferocious, many-legged bugs, the likes of which cannot be found outside Moria. Amid the mud and fog here lurk beetles the size of men and armor-plated, poison-spitting centipedes the size of horses, with mandibles like swords. Let only the most vital quest take you there. [1]
