Quotes

  • What can you tell me about Haycliff?
'There is a series of tunnels that run within the northern cliffs of Entwash Vale. The roots of Fangorn, the sun from the Riddermark, the water from the Highknoll all combine to create a unique environment for creatures to prosper. One of them is a strange little frog. While they are poisonous to eat, if the slime covering the frogs body is placed within an arrow wound, the wound will not fester and instead will close and heal rapidly. A rather curious thing in my mind.'
  • What can you tell me about The Entwalk?
'The eaves of Fangorn are a dangerous place for any traveller who is not himself a tree. The dark woods are beginning to awake and I feel they burn not with the fire of the orcs but with the long simmering anger. When we do venture there we are sure to plant new trees and respect the forest, but I fear it knows not the difference between us and the Orcs. All it sees are small creatures scurrying about, and all it wishes to do is destroy them.'
  • What can you tell me about The Living Deep?
'The roots of Fangorn burrow deep and far into the north-west of these lands. There are caves one can walk through to view the forest from below, an odd experience to say the least but one that brings wonder at the breadth and power of the forest. From one of these caves, The Living Deep, we have seen goblins crawling around and heard the sounds of terrible thunder from within. Whatever they are attempting, it cannot lead to good.'
  • What can you tell me about the Siege of Eaworth?
'Eaworth has suffered much in early battles with our enemy. They have setup a great war camp on the ridge just to the south of us and there is naught to do about it but wait for them to come out and march forward. While the town may be burnt, so long as the beacon stands we shall defend it. Let their catapults launch, let their arrows fly, let them come. I shall be waiting.'
