Walkthrough & Notes

This quest counts for the Aiding the Entwash Vale deed. Completing Aiding the Eastemnet will cancel this quest This is an instanced public questing area. Look for Traps which have a quest item sparkle in the gloom of the woods (turn on 'Floating names' will help also) and interact with them to free 5 critters and complete the quest. Best to stick close to the instance barrier edges to avoid becoming surrounded by orcs in this confined space. Avoid Blackroots who will one shot defeat the character is aggroed (who will respawn in the instance to continue). To leave the instance either return to and interact with, the Return to Eaworth horse at the instance spawn-in location. Or, more easily in the murky woods, right click the character portrait and use the 'Leave Instance' feature.

Quest Text

Bestowal dialogue 'The Orcs are destroying not just the trees of Fangorn, but are also trapping and slaughtering the small animals and creatures who live within the eaves. 'They have laid traps all over the forest floor that are filled with squirrels and foxes waiting to be gathered up and cooked for dinner. 'Head into the Entwalk, destroy these traps, and free the animals who are held within.' Background The traps that the Orcs have laid throughout Fangorn are catching small squirrels and foxes. Objective 1 Free critters from traps in the Entwalk (0/5) Traps can be found within the Entwalk. The Orcs have laid traps throughout the forest to catch small squirrels and foxes. Dernstan: 'Just like the forest itself, the animals must be protected as well.' Enter the Public Instance: The Entwalk Objective 2 Talk to Dernstan Dernstan is at Eaworth. Dernstan will be pleased to hear that many of the Orc-traps have been destroyed and several squirrels and foxes rescued. Dernstan: 'The animals in the forest deserve to have their chance to live and not be eaten by the foul creations of the Enemy. 'The Orcs are still within the Entwalk and placing more traps, I am sure, but saving even a few squirrels and foxes is a victory.'
