Mounts

un-necessary value

All mounts require Riding Skill.

Even those for Founder/Expedionary... i.e me... On Creation, a new character automatically gets the Founder mount and the Moria Goat. However, neither can be used until the "Riding Skill" is obtained.

Note also that you should "wikifi" Riding Skill, and other similar entries.

If you say the founder steed also requires it, then I will remove that as a requirement; from reading the mount guide it appeared you did not need the riding skill but I may have misread. Will double check and if so will remove that as a req Savi (talk) 10:57, 2 May 2013 (EDT)
Forgot to mention, I do not believe I can use the normal bracketed link on the text as the property type is text...though I suppose I can test it on the property value itself...Savi (talk) 11:07, 2 May 2013 (EDT)
As a founder you get the starter steed (and moria goat) automatically, any idea if that mount is obtainable by any other means? Savi (talk) 11:41, 2 May 2013 (EDT)

"Speed" definition is incomplete ...

The definition of Has Speed is incomplete. ... which should probably be shortened to "Speed

  1. No Category is defined for the page i.e. it is "floating" -- should probably be Category: Game Terms
  2. No reference is given for the percentage. i.e.
    • 62% SLOWER than walking?
    • FASTER than walking?
    • of the speed of a "Stable-master" mount?
    • of the speed of a War-steed?
    • do buffs stack?
  • Despite what is on the in-game Tool-tips, the correct answer is "162% of walking speed.
  • Note that these will likely be augmented/changed in either U11 (not too likely) or U12 (more likely) -- with, minimally, a "buff" from the LOTRO Store.
  • War-steed speed ranges from 1-15 MPS (Meters per second, I think it is)

Shortened...probably not as properties typically are named like verbs, or so it was stated in the user guide;
Category...for the property pages? I suppose we could add a property category...if you check out the special:properties page, there are some basic ones that get created automatically. Does that mean you would prefer to officially add that and categorize those as well?
I see what you mean about in actuality its 162% etc, however it seems similiar to your argument above about all steeds requiring the riding skill, so as all mounts start with 100% speed, it seems silly to include a factor shared among them all, as for faster/slower...I'm not sure that requires explanation, does it? There are no such thing as a negative speed horse...Savi (talk) 11:02, 2 May 2013 (EDT)

What is a "Property"

Ok, I give up... what is "Has Property" all about...? Never encountered it before.

"Special Pages / Properties" Special:Properties apparently lists a number of "properties" which are defined, but unused on lotro-wiki. Then it lists those which you have defined for this page.

Properties are part of the Semantic Wiki. You'd be better to read up on it yourself as I'm not the best for explaining things, lol, but as I see it, its like a category that includes an individual value. These properties also inform the wiki of their 'tags' so they can be conveniently searched, etc; Their 'type', specified on their individual page is important, without that all the value would turn into a page request (as that is the default type)Savi (talk) 11:06, 2 May 2013 (EDT)
