Rivendell is a popular destination for characters, even low-level ones who want to:
- Join the Scholar's Guild
- Talk to Aragorn to finish Vol. I, Book 3, Chapter 7 and start the quest chain A Momentous Decision
So what's an easy way to get there if you're too low-level to ride all the way through the Trollshaws and fast-travel from South Bree won't let you ride there (since you're below level 40)?
Note: You must be at least level 20 to use this method.
- Go to The Prancing Pony in Bree
- Go upstairs to Gandalf's room
- Talk to him and accept the quest The Road to the Lonely Mountain
- You will immediately travel to Rivendell
- Cancel The Road to the Lonely Mountain quest so that you can use this method again later
By cancelling the quest without completing it you can use this method over and over again to get to Rivendell until you're high enough level to get their on your own.
