Description
Tarondor was son of Tarcil. He ruled as the seventh King of Arnor for 87 peaceful years, beginning III 515 when his father died.
His name has no certain meaning, some guesses are in the direction of "King of the Land" or maybe "Noble city".
Tarondor was the father of Valandur who succeeded him as the High King.
About 1,400 years later a same-named king ruled in Gondor, the king that moved the royal power from Osgiliath to Minas Arnor (Minas Tirtith). Commonly the two kings are called Tarondor of Arnor and Tarondor of Gondor.
