Talk:Weatherstock

I added this page to save it from the Lorebook purge. Should I name it instead Social:Weatherstock because it's organized by players and not an official Turbine event? This is how we normally treat player and kinship-related content, but I'm not sure if Weatherstock is a special case. We even got in-game titles this year for attending and participating, which to my mind makes it similar to the Fashion Maven or Riddle Master events. Weatherstock, and "Music" (as in the Lonely Mountain Band in particular) have been getting a lot of attention from Turbine lately. It hasn't gotten the bugs fixed, but some things like "emote free zones" came from that.

Category: Special Events probably makes as much sense as anything -- one would think something under Category: Social might be more fitting -- but "social" here on lotro-wiki is a pretty thin category, of course Category:Player Events could help "fatten it up" ... now if we could somehow recruit those kinsites, etc. displaced from the Lorebook... :)

I am in fact an officer with the Lonely Mountain Band, hence my particular interest in these topics. :)

I also have the Ales & Tales page that I rescued from the Lorebook that I would like to transfer here, and it would also fit well in a Player Events category. Cool... don't know if you know about the "Special Pages: Export Pages; and it's converse here Import pages.

Probably the main issue it has is that it imports into the same category... which is only an issue if there is a page with a similar name -- nothing happens... no import, no error message... for that page. But the file is XML and easy to hand edit and rename stuff. Of course, the main problem is -- no images... they have to be grabbed separately.

I did grab the export file for Category:Landroval_Events - which has both Weathertop and Ales and Tales... so if you need it... (belt and suspenders.)

I also grabbed the export file for Category:Kinships -- thinking maybe we should just put them all up if they are not already here. It looks like it will populate (i.e.) all of the categories/subcategories that currently exist in the lorebook.
