KINSHIP DETAILS

The Defenders of Anduril is a kinship on the Snowbourn server. It was created by Oane Runninglight on 14/05/07 as a home for members of the Galactic Alliance, a Star Wars Galaxies guild.

Since then it has expanded to include members recruited in LOTRO. Flatmates and nextdoor neighbours of current members are also welcome. Usually it is only possible to join with a recommendation from a member.

Due to the strange nature of most of its members the kinship chat is an interesting mix of game talk, smut and piss taking.

The kinship members are usually willing to help lower level players out with quests. Especially Panjera who is attempting to set a record for the most runs through The Great Barrow by any one man.

Oane has created a movie, showing some of the key members which can be found on youtube.[1]

OANE RUNNINGLIGHT

EXTRA INFO: The pipe-weed smoking Founder of the Kinship is forever "on the jazz" (meaning he loves the adrenaline of action). Oane just loves to play it tough and cocky to the biggest bad guy (yes, even Sauron). Named after the legendary Jedi who almost single handedly destroyed the Galactic Empire along time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. Like his namesake, Oane is a master tactician, but his plans never quite turn out as they are supposed to. According to Bobamir, "Oane's plans never work like they're supposed to, they just work".

Oane is also famed for his "mastery" of disguise - usually involving a wig and a pair of false teeth, that any Hobbit, Elf, Man or Dwarf with some semblance of vision could see through. Nethertheless he is man the Kinship revolves around and after every successful victory Oane utters his famous catchphrase, "I just love it when a plan comes together!".

BOBAMIR

EXTRA INFO: Bob is always followed by his faithful herald Concorde. He has recently developed a strange liking for a large hat that he found on a dead goblin. To date Bob is the only one to think this hat suits him. Bob was the first member to join the kinship after his old friend Oane founded it. He has enjoyed seeing it grow from these humble beginnings to the strange bunch of mixed up characters it is today! The most recent developments in Bob's life have seen him dragged into a petty rivalry with fellow kinship member Aramyil. Their battle to be better than each other has forced them into increasingly more dangerous areas of middle earth. This contest will only end in trouble, most likely for Bob!

ARAMYIL

EXTRA INFO: Aramyil (known as Ara to her frinds) spent her first years growing up in the forests of Lindon, surrounded by many elves and wood creatures. On becomming of age, she decided to venture out into the world of man. At first, dreaming of becoming an expert master tinker, she found herself drawn into the troubles of the time, helping Gandalf and his trusty ranger friends. Having some trouble with large elite trolls she found herself in the company of Oane and Bobamir, venturing out to retake weatherop. After much persuasion, Aramyil was enroled in the ranks of Defenders of Anduril as a member. After much hard work and nagging, she was finally raised to the rank of officer where she harrases the menfolk to get them to do what she wants. She can currently be found in high mountains or dread covered lands, also helping out other members, trying to beat Bob in the race to 50. When Aramyil finaly became old enough to buy her own horse, Aramyil named her trusty steed after the man captain (Bob), due to of course, the amount of hassel she had when trying to raise the money to buy him. When not saving the world from scary monsters, theres nothing Aramyil likes better than to work on her crafting skills, in the hope that she will actually produce something of worth.

EXTRA INFO: Dreaming of the day he will be given a ship to cruise the oceans of Middle Earth, Wosem spends his time fighting evil and throwing himself recklessly into situations with no thought for his own skin for the greater good of his friends......he has also mastered the art of cliff surfing and plans to introduce it as a new spectator sport to the good people of Middle Earth

PANJERA ANCHE

EXTRA INFO: Panjera can usually be found Questing around middle earth with his bear companion Artois, or growing some high grade pipeweed in the fields of the Shire. Aswell as running regular tours of the Great Barrow, Panj is a dab hand at chicken football and once single handedly beat the rest of the Kinship 3-0 (maybe a lie ;-P)

EXTRA INFO: Togun Ryler, a noble dwarf of the sword, yes indeed - just like his father Dorbert of the Lonely Mountains, he comes from the Grey Mountains of the east, north of Mirkwood. For a short period of time Togun grew up in the mountains, originally learning his Father's tricks of Guardian skills. But after the sixty years of hiding, and since Dwalin's new rule over Thorin's Hall, the two dwarfs took refuge in Bree-land. Not long ago, Togun lived on a small farm, in the little village of Staddle (otherwise known as Ryler's Farm), learning the tricks of the trade as he, strangely enough, took interest into becoming a Yeoman. Despite his skills in cooking and farming, Togun has recently been called upon, by the Defenders of Anduril, to help protect the people of Middle-Earth from Sauron's dark army. Wielding his mighty axe, he stands forth, a Champion from the Grey Mountains, son of Dorbert and brother of Aklo, Togun Ryler fights on to fulfil his chosen destiny...

EXTRA INFO: Aklo, hailing from the lands of the Marish, was an orphan. It was very rare to have a Hobbit Orphan, but for Aklo it was reality. He had grown up with no family or friends. Because of this, he dispised love, and friendship, and did everything alone. The thing that kept him going was his love for theivery. Pickpocketing, market stalls you name it, even a break in once. however that ceased when he had his ear nearly cut off by a kitchen knife. when he moved away from the Shire, he came accross a young dwarf called Togun. At first failing to pickpocket him, Aklo and Togun became friends, and over the years, more like brothers. After being introduced to Togun's father, Aklo has become an adopted member of the family. Now as a proffesional Burglar, Aklo has left the comfort of his only family, and has ventured out into the world looking for riches. Aklo's love for burglary still runs through his blood. On his travels, Aklo has now joined the DoA, and is ready to put his skills to good use.
